We have freedom of speech here.
But I really wonder if we are doing right to keep up stuff like this?

I removed these videos from UR on Monday because they have nothing to do with UR or TK! They were between certain people and the reason to post them was to damage those individuals, leaving little room for response.
I think I can speak for all the Mod’s and what I will say is this, yes we may have differing opinions here on certain subjects and approaches, and we don't always see eye to eye. What we are not here for is to be the battle ground for the disgruntled and embittered. We may have free speech but we do control what we believe is good taste.
In the past we have been accused of being nothing other than a reaction to TK, well if that was true it isn't the case now and I am sure everyone who has been on the forums already understands that. I have received many messages over the past year from members thanking us for being here and telling me they now realize that we are not the place they first believed we were.

This thread was created while I was sleeping and had I been in the USA this would have been gone long ago, It is to my great disappointment that one of our US based Mod’s didn't get to this sooner.
I was contacted by a member who said they were leaving, I saw the PM and responded to it before I saw this thread, I now understand what had upset them but had this response been in place they would have know how we feel about such a nasty tawdry small minded subject.

Make no mistake clear blue water flows between 'freedom of speech' and bad taste. We are not here (member named ‘The dirt’) as a place to air your dirty laundry, the adult way to handle personnel disputes is to contact those concerned, discuss, resolve or compromise, not to make a videos and post them for all to see leaving very little for those accused to respond to with any integrity.
This was a hit and run and seemed to dump the most hateful things onto well known individuals and Randy Rhoads fans I hope that members here and elsewhere can understand those intentions if they do not already. Why not spread future videos around all the forums to see how all the differing forums styles and approaches react to such unpleasant and unnecessary fripperies.

To use the phrase from my other thread I couldn't care less about if the content of the vidoes is true or not.

Who cares?

For what it is worth I think all this issue, and the related ones re the film are not clear cut, ie there are not goodies and baddies, like some people like to preceive it. It is just easier and more convenient to view it as two dimensional. I think there is a possibility all hands are dirty a little at least.

My attitude is just let them all get on with it all. The only film I am excited about is Simon's indie Rhoads documentary because I know and trust him.

It's just a large shit storm in a tea cup... we'll all reply and 15 pages of bullshit later it will be forgotten. It doesn't make good reading and it's totaly negative. So why do we get ourselves all upset, just let it fizzle out. If you get involved it's just adding 'fuel to the fire'.

I would be very interested in seeing these pics, sorry thats just they way i am. To see photo's of the scene would be somewhat of a closing of sorts for me. Same with Don's pics, i would love to see those.

can the mods tell us who the dirt is? What is the email address linked to the name. I just want to know who want's to kick my ass. I'll be at the dec 6th meet at mountian view just in case they want to show up and try. I'll be the one with the Zeus and guitars. And just to let you all know if you plan to go to the show at the whisky and need tickets and buy them at the meet in MV. i will let you play the PDV on the Zeus for a few min on video. Tickets are $10.00 each We paid $900.00 for the three slots and MA's airfair for the show. I will even go out on a limb and give my cell phone for you 949 291-9418 This show will be one you dont want to miss. The entire Rhoads family will be there plus a lot more. Ant the march 19th show is looking to be even bigger.

My question is: would it be censorship to not allow people to attack others with the express intention of damaging their reputations? Is it censorship to disallow threats of physical harm to people?

I am all for freedom of speech, but as a community I believe this board needs to find a way to move away from all the negative. From all the accounts I've heard of the kid, Randy Rhoads was a positive person, we are here because of Randy, so let's get back to the positive.
