I picked up the book last week and have been reading it in-between working my way through sputnik sweetheart.
I didn't realize it was a collection of short stories

Most books can be likened to movies very easily, but this book feels closer to photography, its more like a collection of snapshots of life rather than a story.
It reminds me of Lykke Li's debut album (which i recently heard). It trundles on making the most out of a very limited melody, and just when you've had enough a new song starts and you're struck by a new surprising soundscape that keeps you tied to you're seat.
Much like Li's album The Informers is good, but sometimes you wonder why

Being a guitar player I'm going to have to say Crossroads (the one with Steve Vai and Ralph Macchio), the guitar duel scene at the end is worth whatever you paid to see the movie. I do at least have to mention the LOTR Trilogy, I do love those movies as well as their soundtracks, and I like anything that says "007 James Bond"

I have been watching Connery era Bond's lately. I love Thunderball the best. I probably have worn out Quantum of Solace. I loved Casino Royale too, but back to back these both make better sense. I love the pace of Quantum compared to the slower but better scripted Casino. Daniel Craig with Sean, closely followed by Pierce Brosnan are my favourites.
Bond would kick Jason Bourne's ass!! LOL
Actually who would kick them both is Bruce Lee. I am watching a movie a night while I practice (it inspires me!)
Last night was Fist Of Fury, The day before Way Of The Dragon and the Day Before that Enter The Dragon.
I am going to treat myself tonight to Game of Death.
HI YA!!!!!

We may well be, me I'm a Roger Moore fan, "Live And Let Die" is my favorite but I like all of them. My brother is a 4th degree black belt so of course I've seen plenty of Bruce Lee, I love "Enter The Dragon", Bruce was so dedicated to what he was doing, anyone like that is very inspiring.Cpt Matt Sparrow wrote:tedeeoo wrote: Are we related I am a huge Bond fan, and of the movies above too.

My wife loves Roger the best, her favourite is The Spy Who Loved Me. I I prefer The Man With The Golden Gun.
I love Rogers smarmy lines the best like (from memory)
Belly dancer who loses her belly button jewel "I've lost my charm"
Roger "Not from where I am standing"
I'll happily be the Connery of the boards of you don't mind being Roger. I already have Nik Nak in mind LMAO

Hi Alex, your grasp of English as a second language is something I really admire about you.Alex wrote: All this English litterature has actually made me dream in English. Freaks me out a bit.
A Swedish friend of Jessica's who was schooled in Stockholm at an English only school said that she knew she had grasped English when she was able to dream in it.
Cologne she'll wear silver and americard, She'll drive a beetle car and beat you down at cool Canasta. And when the clothes are strewn don't be afraid of the room touch the fullness of her breast feel the love of her caress she will be your living end.

Hey Alex,Alex wrote: Hey Rob, sorry for the late reply. That's what I dug about the movie.I have now finally ordered the book online along with Lunar Park and Choke (by Palahniuk, the guy who wrote Fight Club), and thinking about ordering Less Than Zero as well. So much to read, but so little time! All this English litterature has actually made me dream in English. Freaks me out a bit.
I hope you enjoy it, i will try to see the film when i can

Dreaming in another language must be crazy, thinking in another language is hard enough for me. I have a Norwegian friend who studies in England, she had an operation last Easter in Norway, when she woke up she was still a bit drugged up and it suddenly occurred to her that she could speak Norwegian

The doctors were like, "yeah, no shit!" LMAO

I watched another of my favorite "guitar moments" in a movie Sunday night, I had forgotten about this one. "Back To The Future", the scene with Marty Mcfly doing "Johnny B. Goode" at "The Enchantment Under the Sea" dance is just great, everytime I watch it I laugh till I cry.
