how sad that one person could have caused this much grief & bad feelings amongst Randy fans. (PM) Since Kelly G & Randy were little kids, there was complete love, trust & respect between them, even when they fought, like all kids do! They were brothers. Later, Kevin joined that "family". Kelly has kept pieces of paper that Randy wrote on to him for all these years-still bent & tear stained-because everything they shared was precious to them. Kelly has always been open & ready to share the funny, the painful & the happy & not so happy moments of his life with Randy & Kevin-he does it happily. Starting his own site was a way for Kelly to share even more moments with his fans & Randy's fans. The site is Kelly's "legacy", he EARNED it, the hard way. For people to fight, make snide remarks & doubt the sincerity of the site is very sad. How would Randy feel if he knew that people were doing that & treating the people he cherished that way. Randy & Kelly knew far too well what it felt like to scrimp, borrow & steal to get strings or equipement to play. Kelly hasn't forgotten that, that was why he decided it would be a good thing to offer kids a new bass or guitar or whatever they could provide for them, to give them a "step-up" in a harsh & cold world. Some of that harness & coldness rearing its ugly head with the comments & arguements made here. Recently, Kelly had some very personal things taken from him & without saying too much, it broke his heart, literally. People should be ashamed. Fortunetly, Kelly will always have that brief but very rich time with Randy & Kevin, it will stay & live on forever in his heart. He knows he had something NOONE else had & NOONE else can EVER take from him. Thank God. God looks down on Kelly, even if Kelly doesn't always realize it ,he was blessed. He has honor, talent & compassion & people cannot take that from him & Randy & Kevin smile from above too!! So, remember when you post, think first, "is this what Randy wanted to be remembered for". I congradulate KELLY & Steve with the new site, there's lots of room for more talent to be showcased. Not hate. For pete's sake, give these guys a chance to learn the ropes of running a site-I'm sure, some really fun stuff will be coming! Kelly has had his hands full with his bands, "Kings Crossing" & "No Sky Today" . But, he never forgets his fans!
bebebear I, as many here, truly care for Kelly and are sorry for his recent loss. ( I hope and pray it was not the Ormsby Guitar) It is a fact that when Kelly has gone through some difficult times, the fans here as well as TK, helped him through. I know, as many others here know, how close Randy was with Kelly, there is no doubt about that, and it's wonderful Kelly continues to want to share, and has kept mementos of the relationship he had with Randy. It is also wonderful that he dedicates his new site to Randy. I believe Kelly's intentions are indeed straight from his heart and sincere, but his choice of partners is not held with high respect. I do not know this fellow (partner) but reading his posts here, I would not trust him past a stones throw. Trust is a two way street ! There is no hate involved with wondering. I believe many feel the same way as I, and it's not my place to reason why Kelly choose to hook up with him. What I do know is that Randy would want the best for Kelly, but also I know Randy would want his legacy, and the legacy he gives to new musicians, as well as children whom desire to embark in the musical field, done in the most appropriate, and honorable way. It will take a lot of heart and soul, as well as hard work. I cannot see the kids on these boards donating what allowance they earn, doing odd jobs, mowing lawns, whatever, paying for a forum, until it is done right, and anyone donating or paying fees has a full disclosure of how money is allocated. That means becoming a corporate non-profit organization, which I know is much work, but at the end of the day, everyone involve is happy with the result. The result is people who donate get to see the children who benefited, and how they benefited. I mean no disrespect by any of my comments, it's just that people have the right to know what their money goes to, and how, so they can feel good about it. Everyone has the right to ask questions.
I always wondered why a close friend, or a fellow musician, had not done something like this sooner for Randy. It's what 27 years!!! I think to honor Randy's legacy completely it could be done in a very appropriate way, where all friends, fellow musicians, and fans would be proud of their contributions. And then we will see Randy smiling down on all! I think he's waiting for the best foot forward !!!!!!!!
Bebe everyone is blessed in one way or another and God shines through all! Have Kelly check out www.internosmusic.org This may give Kelly some light into what he can do. It would be amazing to see a guitar at the left of the screen playing notes!!!!!!!!!!
I don't mean to spell things out, but, when this really gets organized, I believe when ex-band mate are in town, Kelly could have benefit concerts etc. Hell, Rudy lives in Woodland Hills.....Musicians are always up for a good cause, maybe he could even hit up the Ozz man. This could benefit hundreds of children, the options could be infinite. I wish only good luck to Kelly, and may he have only the best intentioned friends, and partners surround him at this time.
As for me I knew Randy, he was a friend, and what I say may not mean much to anyone, really don't care if it does, but I cared for Randy. For some reason I believe he will rest when he knows all is good ........
Cheers to Randy and His Legacy !

Kelly's site isn't for children. It's meant for adults, so there will be nobody expecting "kids" to scrimp & give their hard-earned "mowing money" for other kid's instruments. This is a chance for the RR fan-based community of adults to give a helping hand towards kid's & their musical endevours. Kelly knew what Randy would have wanted, as does the entire Rhoads family. Randy would smile upon Kelly!!! For 27 yrs, people have had lives to live, mortages to pay, families that needed attention & hurt, pain & wounds from their loss to heal & now, Kelly has found the time & feels secure enough to express himself freely, & he's doing so with this new creative & alternative outlet, in honor of Randy & Kevin & the Rhoads family. Randy, Kelle, Kelly, & Kathy were schooled by Mrs.Rhoads, it is a family musical dynasty. Noone can ever take that away from any of them. Many people claim to be on the "inside" but they show how untrue that is by making remarks & hurtful claims about things they really are misinformed about. Randy IS at rest, because he has had the undying love & support & respect from his closest friends & family & yes, the fans.

I NEVER felt "inside"...... (what do you mean with "ïnside"?)bebebear wrote:Many people claim to be on the "inside" but they show how untrue that is by making remarks & hurtful claims about things they really are misinformed about.
This board is here because fans had suffered enough from all the Bullshit in the world of RR.....

"Ultimate Rhoads" is for the FANS in the first place

People (young, old, .tk, vip's or whatever) can come here to correct any false information people write. If they think UR sucks they can tell us too!
*To blame people here for expressing some "natural concerns" is not right imo. It would be foolish to expect people here to send $$ to someone without some healthy concerns. No matter who that person is. Even if it was the pope himself! Not allowing these concerns to me would be even more reason for concerns......
Thanks for joing BB, I appreciate your post though!

The winner of the rat race is still a rat.

This is a devil's advocate post just to throw some ideas around. I hope the names in it don't take any of it personally.
I think Kelly and Steve need to empathise a little more with people's skepticism. Sure some of it is the usual naysayers who mock anything new in the RR world, however many do not trust a site with Steve Blevins' name connected with it. Personally I try hard to forgive and move on (although it is often of course very hard) but only a few weeks back pictures of Randy Rhoads with a photoshopped penis being held by a girl friend were being posted by Steve.
These kind of things I think are what are putting people off. Some people probably were hugely offended by it too. For the record the first time I saw it I giggled at the silly-ness of it. I am just putting myself in other people's shoes.
From a personal perspective I think Kelly's commitment to the site and the features on it look awesome. I like the idea of the groups you can create (you can do that too on the my les paul forums) and I think the personal touch of having Kelly being available for online chats etc is really cool. It is the kind of down to earth and humble-ness I associate with the great man himselfx
When it is sorted out I shall certainly consider signing up.

Is a friendship that is founded on two peoples mutual dislike of a man really a good basis for a proper friendship?

Having a break from online activity for a while to concentrate on music. Please email if you need to get in touch. Matt
i do have high hopes for his site, but honestly i do not go far...In all honesty i do not know much about Mr.Garni other than he played with Randy for awhile. He could have a whole other following as far as bass player fans that i do not even know about. But i would think his main reason for being "famous" would be for having played with Randy and being a friend of his for so long. If the the site is going to be for Randy fans mostly then having it being a pay site will eventually make it fail.
Just look at rr.tk and this board, Randy is very well known but these two message boards are the most popular sites about him and we barely have any members combined between the two!

A Very good point you've picked up on. If someone is giving something away for free your not going to pay for something with similar contents. OK some people are saying it's not alot of money. But comparing this to all the members here who get this site for free. It would be interesting to know if people would be willing to pay money to keep this site up and running if it had financial difficulties. I know we want to see new info and interesting articles on RR. But having another site is like having a 5 legged table. Who needs one ?.JMPMKII wrote:Just look at rr.tk and this board, Randy is very well known but these two message boards are the most popular sites about him and we barely have any members combined between the two!
