i agree, Children of the grave from tribute was arguably one of the greatest live solos he ever did. I know he generally used the same scales and riffs but he always would make it up as he went a long and that time it was incredible!

I think we have known this for a while but it still pleases me that people are still finding him 25 years after his sad death, and realize that he is ahead of us still! 8)

One thing I find to be wonderful is the interest in Randy by so many young players these days. To hear someone in their early teens citing Randy Rhoads as an inspiration in their playing is incredible. As the pure musician/teacher that he was, nothing would make him more proud. That is his legacy.....and that legacy will continue to grow for years. I have a very strong feeling that his impact will continue to be felt for decades to come.....

Art of Shredding.....I was very very lucky in being able to have seen Randy play live. Very very fortunate.

My friend and I used to BLAST that song over and over. The other tunes were played enough on the radio, but Diary was so gothic and melodic but hard at the same time and we never got to hear it on the radio. Awesome, haunting tune.

Although I mentioned other songs this track means a lot to me. The words and how Randy played the outro is amazing. Lets just hope that one day we get to hear the missing 6 mins of solo that follow the fade at the end.

Tonight is a beautiful peice of music.
hey, i cast my vote with you guys. as the song ends, i just have to crank the volume to squeeze the last notes! side story, jodi said randy used to say it sounded like ozzy was singing "is it just a recipe, or am i right?"
he thought it was funny.

Diary Is The Best

Diary of a Madman is epic. That song always gives me shills whenever I hear it. No other song comes close except You Can't Kill Rock & Roll. Great chords all around...
