A friend of mine recently surprised me with a Ozzy/Randy concert dated only 1980. This was definetly recorded by the Play Rec. buttons on a cassette player and by the crowd noise sounds like no more than 300 people. I honestly think this may be one ...of the first five shows they did. The band was raw, Ozzy's vocals were damn good and Randy didn't have one of his better nights. You can tell he was still working on playing the songs live. Just before Randy kicks in w/ I Don't Know a guy right next to the radio screams in a thick english or scottish accent "I DON'T KNOW ". Second song is "Looking at me Looking at you". Ozzy mentions the keyboardists name b4 Mr. Crowley but try as I might I can't understand him. Sounds like he says Rick Weissman ? To quote ozzy in this concert "We're gonna do a number now featuring Randy Rhoads our lead guitarist, who by the way is gay " The encores are Steal Away and Paranoid. Do any scenarios sound familiar.
sorry for the long post. Was curious cause obviously Looking at you Looking at me didn't make the album and it seems like the majority of the crowd are hearing the songs for the 1st time. The songs win them over but when ozzy introduces them you can sense an awkwardness of silence i guess you would say.
so:
I know the idea of it being one of the first shows would be amazing but doubtful as you know but these are the clues that were given to me and I don't know what to make of them. I am not well versed on reactions of crowds and the like as some of you guys are.
Anyone who could shed any light on this would be appreciated.
Thanks Eddie
