In the future RR will be seen as much more than a guitarist, he will be viewed alonside other great composers of music and if his tools are left hidden away and lost this will make creating the conditions far an academic overview of Randal Willian Rhoads much harder.

I think the practice amp isn't as important as the Amp's, Speakers, Guitars, Chip pan and his body of written work.
To this I will agree - and I'm the guy who's been inputting the 'Hey, I was there when we made the practice amp' stuff. One of my ex-band buddies is a true Randy fan (and a hell of a guitarist himself), and he was blown away away that I had a hand in the crafting of that little item - yet I know his inspiration all along has been the music RR created on the neck of whatever guitar he was playing thru whatever-the-hell-amp he was using. I am very pleased to know that Randy is appreciated now, not merely for being a rock star, but for bringing something inspirational to the jaded rock world - just like Eddy VH did in 1978. Rock museums are, as others here have noted, a one-dimensional and faceless attempt to document the passion those artifacts communicated, yet I also hate to see those objects used for ill-gotten profits or left somewhere to collect dust. What to do with them - that's a good question. what I do know is that when my band (RAZU) opened for Quiet Riot back in those club days, I easily sensed that Rudy and (especially) Randy were on their way to somewhere big - not something everybody gets to be a part of.
But our guitars did sound better. You shoulda been there.
I am glad you agree with my view of Randy's future place in music history.
My main reason to be on these forums is to help create the foundations to move Randy's legacy towards the academic and away from the 'Rock Star'. I said once before that I know this will have been achieved when Randy is forgotten and instead, people talk about Randal.
I think Randy will be forgotten before future generations rediscover him, but I am in no doubt that he will be rediscovered and studied as a composer and an innovator. Imagine hearing an Orchestra playing Randal’s work in a traditional way, I am only sad that I won’t be there to see it for myself 8)

PS
You lucky sod, playing on the same bill is such a cool boast not to mention working on his amp, my respect goes out to you.

I think the music will survive everyone here.
But unfortunately I think slowly on the names of the persons who wrote the music will slowly on fade away and in the far future the songs will be just remembered as 'Ozzy' songs. Hope I'm wrong though.

Maybe an idea would be to have Randy's guitars and effects be donated for a personal spot at the RR hall of fame. They could have a spot dedicated to Randy's effect on metal music and how he changed the scope on how metal guitarist played by incorperating classical themes and theory. I think that would be a fitting home for Randys belongings.

Another idea is Randy was from Burbank and perhaps someone or some people like Frank and Lori, Kathy would create some kind of museum or place to display his history. Maybe at Kathy's wine cellar. I know the Burbank Police don't play and if well put together it would be tough trying to steal that stuff.

Paiste, doesn't Burbank have the "Burbank Historical Society", on Olive Avenue or Verdugo? I wonder if they have security there? I also have wondered what will become of the home Randy was raised in? I don't think neighbors would take to kindly to it being turned into a museum. Too bad though. Will it be knocked down to build another Mansion like so many other homes in Burbank?

Uggh it really is sad what Burbank has become. I have such fond memories of the small suburbia it was. Now it's condo's and mansions as you said. I remember hanging out at McCambridge Park and the golden mall. The problem with Randy's house being turned into a historic landmark would be parking. Not sure if the Santoros next door would be down with all the traffic. But I am sure Kathy may have something in the mix. I think down on the golden mall would be a perfect spot. Get Drew to donate some stuff and some of Randy's students aka CCT and Janet Robin. Then maybe have Frank manage it or Kim. I think this would greatly serve Randy's legacy.

Just my three cents

Uhhh McCambridge Park and The Golden Mall. I remember "Laugh In" making fun of beautiful downtown Burbank. For me as a teenager, it was a little piece of heaven. I loved it, so different now, but me too, many fond memories. Remember Michaels Records, Burcals, & Woolworths. Before I could drive, I thanked God for Michaels. I was up on Amherst so many times when in Jr. High and H.S., but I was almost everywhere. Sad to say, I don't recall everyone who lived on the street or even who I had been visiting. You are right neighbors would not like the traffic. Kind of like when production companies rent houses in residential areas for shoots, the neighbors are never to pleased. BPD are protective of their town, but still I would hope some type of security would be involved. With the wack cases out there looking to make a buck ,and RR, Quiet Riot items in demand! I don't know if I would ever visit it as, seeing RR things is really not important to me, but I'm sure a lot of fans will be appreciative. I am looking forward to a film that will focus on his life, his music and who he was. I sure wish I had been a lot wilder in those days, but hind site.......memories are always a good thing!
