Randy's Nationality.......

Post by RRfish »

Maybe this has already been touched on. I was wondering if anyone knew Randy's parents heritage? I think they were both born in U.S. I know Randy was. Rhoads seems to be a British name in origin, but Delores seems to look Austrian to me. Just curious...... Thanks RRfish

I have always wondered too. The surname Rhoads makes me think of the giant statue called the Colossus of Rhodes which is in Turkey I think or somewhere over there. Kelly I think is Delores' maiden name, and I believe that sort of name is Irish/English. I imagine Randy was just a typical American mutt though. :)

Hi RRfish

Frank said when I asked him, that both sides of Randy's family were English originally.
I believe he said his dad immigrated to the US from England (?)

We will have to have a UR seance and contact Frank as he doesn't post hear now...he is in a parallel RR universe :)

Hey thanks everyone, hope Frank comes back to give us some insight. Probably doesn't matter, but it would be interesting to find out. I know that Randy's family went to the Lutheran Church in Burbank and he, Kelli, and Cathy attended elementary school there as well. I do have a friend who attended that church as well, and originally her grandparents were Jewish. Because of discrimination, they changed their name when they immigrated to the U.S., and became Lutheran. Her grandparent were of Austrian decent. I don't know why but Delores, even in her younger years looked Austrian to me. A lot of great classical musicians came out of Austria. Also wondered where or why Delores came up with the name Musonia for her studio. Looked it up and it can mean, Tree of Life or a strange bug that looks like a praying mantas. Just curious. Cheers!

Hi RR Fish,

That is interesting if the family do go back to Germany, because much to many English peoples disdain, the country (England) is full of German blood from the Angles. They invaded England in 1066 along with the Vikings. That literally raped the women and tore up the villages and left their mark literally.

Of course then we were invaded by the Moors too. So TAB is right. We (humans) are such mongrels saying someone is any particular nationality is unimportant!

But then we invaded other countries forcing our ways on their cultures. Even today many countries hold a grudge against the British Isles or to be more accurate England. We were bastards in history, but I don't believe any country hasn't been as we are all human.

Did you see my question regarding Musonia? Did Frank ever say what the origin of that was? By the way I did see your link after the fact, thanks!
Cheers!

No he didn't but that was a fascinating observation of yours.
The Rhoads family are obviously tolerant of other faiths because I have read they allow visitors and fans to meditate and pray in the RR former teaching room.

I must admit I am patriotic in a primitive way. I love England football team and love the history of my own country but I do also think it is a load of bollocks too LOL in the scheme of infinity and the universe!
