I could be wrong but I think Randy's current fanatic fan base consists of mainly people who play guitar themselves...... If people ever heard of him it's a lot of times because they are playing guitar themselves. So to these people it will maybe a bit dissapointing if the film is about Randy the person instead of Randy the musician. Escpecially since there is so little about RR. It's not like with other artists like Hendrix where plenty of stuff already exists.
And since it's about Randy the person it's a bit odd that people who never ever met him are in it. (Michael Batio, Zakk Wylde...) But we can only speculate for now, maybe the doc will be great, who knows! I have some sceptism but I definitely looking forward to it!

Yeah,maybe his fanbase is mostly guitarists but there are many sabbath/ozzy fans that know of rr.
Any movie is better than none,even if it has cheeze.Look at all those crappy behinf the music bio's.Those are so lame yet i love watching them.I mean they have one on Ratt!Its ridiculous.What next?Poison?
Anyway,the music is what counts and it will always be here regardless of movie or no movie.
As for zakk wylde and batio...well,yeah you would hope they interview people that knew rr personally not peeps on the periphery.If they want to add humor they should interview malmsteen for a good bs story or two.

oth, I think that this film is a great idea and will be the first of several which result in RR fans getting to hear/see what they have be hoping for for so long.
Real RR fans understand the problems that exist in the community which is why we should all promote variety, ie orthodox and independance, with all these sides covered we as fans will be here to provide the goodies and good news when it arrives.
since I started viewing the on-line world of RR I can honestly say that it has never been a richer or more hopeful time to be an RR fan.

I also agree with Paul and Dutch that had RR's mum been less ridgid in the image that was seen of her son we might well have more audio and video, having less good quality RR does not equate to being less impressive as a man or musician. I don't believe that seeing/hearing RR's mistakes would diminish his fan base or legacy.

I feel that his legacy being so controled has only led to us true fans having less material to enjoy and this has not benefited us his family or created a driving force behind the great speeding loco' that is the RR experience, infact if it wasn't for people wishing to have independance chances are you wouldn't even be able to read exchanges such as the ones in this thread.

My wish for 2009 is that this amazing story can be told with lots of new Ozzy era footage and audio how sweet to see RR on the diary set close up doing what he did best! I also wish Peter well for the future and forward these wishes to him even though his self imposed UR boycott stands as resolute today as it did in 2008

That admin would have been me.. it's a shame you guys got the hammer in in all of this. I dont think it was my fault ! Peter had a problem with this site from the first because he had no "CONTROL" here. TK gives him control Ironface is his tool and everytime they post news on blabbermouth TK always gets a link listed.

I'm sure some kool info will come out of the film But I feel the same way Alex does this film thing along with Tk has really ruined my Randy experience and I have a problem listening to him or looking at pictures now because of the crap.

As for Ozzy music..I would say that at this point it is not wanted for this reason. The deal between the Rhoads and Peter was that Kelle provide all of the music for the film and i'm sorry thats going to make this film "weird" because kelle is out there! just keep that in mind while waiting on Ozzy music.

Some people are more into promoting themselves thanRandy but randy is the key to that

"Kelly G & Kelle R" oh throw Peter in that as well. i would put one more name in but that person has been cool to me through this whole thing.

I would like to post on this site again if the admins will allow it? i thought i would disapear for a while and let all the other stuff emerge.

But i think some good interviews will come from it.

We don't blame you about anything. I don't see any reason for that. BUT we don't want you to use Ultimate Rhoads as a tool for a continueous personal fight against Peter M. Hope you understand.....

I never used this place as a tool.. I just posted truths that people didn't want to hear. I seem to remember being a member here before all of that.

But I do understand what your saying about the "tool"

I hope I have the same freedom to post my opinon as everyone else?
If i should post something Peter don't like just remember i'm not twisting his arm to come here and read it.

I can't help it if someone don't like my post. if anyone used this place like a tool it was TK.

You have. Hence your 2nd post ago is still there.
But there is no point to post the same opinion about a certain person over and over again. (people are already well aware about your opinion by now ) This is not because we hope that Peter will come back posting here if we 'protect' him or that we 'disagree with you' or whatever. That's not the point. A lot of people here are well aware of certain things but do think your personal 'Peter M.' fight is getting very old.
We are also not waiting for another 'RR.tk vs UR'. We had huge threads about that here in the past. Everybody could give his opinion. But there is no point to keep hammering on that. RR.tk will stay and won't change and UR will stay and won't change either. So once everything has been said & done it's time to put it to rest. That's what we think you should do as well. It won't help anybody if you carry on writing the same 'venom' over and over again.

I agree, nobody needs to keep reading the same old stories, doing so only helps some people to further believe that we care so much about it that we promote such things.
Randy's story is so brief and tragic that not very much is left to talk about so lets hope we do learn more about this brief and tragic life.

Is it not a double standard to let others post about some things you ask me not to speak of? Look everything that happened was bad I take responsibility on my part but for god sakes you people debate on Randy's death and personal life I guess Whistle Blowing is a big no no here... anyway I will try to respect your wishes I guess now that TK is the "Official Site" you don't get the bad people anymore and would like to keep it that way..

Not speaking for the other's but for me alone, I fully agree Nic, I am not even certain we cared that much back when it was news either.
