Then it was taken back to court, supreme ?, by the osbournes and everything was dismissed.
All far too hard to follow unless you have all the evidence sitting in front of you yeah, too much he said she said without evidence.

One thing is for sure in my mind Bob was co author of some of the greatest albums ever recorded and he deserves some of the money generated from those sales, and money from the continued sales of those albums I believe.
NicDots wrote: Then after Bob got screwed by the Osbournes time and time again in the 80s, he signed up to do Ozzmosis.
Well is this not when ozzy said that they would help him fight jet in court but forgot to tell him that the osbounes had already acquired all rites to the work?
Actually, Bob took it to the Supreme Court, and they dismissed it.
And I thought the Jet lawsuit was in the 80s. Ozzmosis began in what...late 93? No matter though...if someone attempts to screw you out of lots of money, I don't know why you'd ever want to work with them again, even if they "say" they'll help you. Since you've been fucked over by said person, their word really means jack.

I agree with you on the Bob co-authoring stuff and deserving what is his. It's too bad that lawsuits and legal mumbo-jumbo have to get in the way.

Anyway, no use beating a dead horse!

And Randy getting punched didn't seem to unbelievable to me. Ozzy was a drunk and a violent drunk at that. Being drunk aside, I imagine Ozzy was mad and rightly so. For Randy to tell him that he wanted out and wouldn't do SOTD even though he was under contract would not be good. If you sign a contract, you sign it...and you honor it. People say that Randy was "kept" by Ozzy. Yes, that is the case, and yes, it's sad. Ozzy in turn was "kept" by Sharon and Don Arden. That's just how contracts work.

(if true he must know about the lawsuits by Randy's mother as well)
It's info like this we need to see in the film because it will answer queries we have about RR's real life and legacy. without these questions answered and audio/video from the more interesting Ozzy period us fans will be left wanting and wondering about what really was going on behind the scenes for RR during his time with the Ozzy camp.

I hope Peter has secured the Osbourne's because we need to hear from them, and if so, that they are candid. If Peter has not I still hope that the O's address us fans and give us a visual of their time with RR inc archive video and audio releases.

It is vital to have this verified when wants to understand the current RR legacy situation.
I'm sure there will be no word about this in the documentary because nobody wants to disturb Mrs. Rhoads with this..... (fully understand) So unfortunately I guess the only hope for fans that want more stuff comming out is the "change of the guard" theory...... :x

Kelly has said to me face to face that "a lot" of new stuff will come to light after Mrs. Rhoads passes. That, to me, says Mrs. Rhoads is the main reason we don't have much to the this point. She is the quality control and will only allow the highest of quality. The "change of the guard" theory isn't a theory, it's an unfortunate truth. That is why I don't mind waiting.

Did he meant QR stuff or Ozzy stuff, or both?
I remember someone said that when talking with $haron she said: "we are sitting on tons of stuff we can't use".
Which to me is not that unlikely either......

He didn't specify QR or Ozzy, he simply said that Mrs. Rhoads was in control of what is available and after she has passed the ties binding that 'stuff' will be loosened.

An update on Peter Margolis's myspace, great news to see Lee Kerslake has been interviewed for the docu..

Update January 2009

Today is Sunday January 18th,2009 and an update is in order.
We began filming this documentary March 19th 2007 and I am hoping by
the same time this year that we will finally be done with that aspect
of production.
Two years is a very long time to spend shooting a film, however, not
that long for a documentary of this nature.
I remember reading an article in the Hollywood Reporter several months
ago regarding a documentary due out about singer Patti Smith.
They were interviewing the director who claimed that it took him seven
years from start to finish.
I remember thinking that seven years seems like an eternity to work on
one project, but as we approach two years, I can now see how that
could be possible.
While shooting all through 2008 we began editing as well. It took
eight months just to sift through all of the interviews dealing with
the period of 1975-1979 to create a cohesive story from that time
period.
Things have slowed for the moment as we have just hired two writers to
deliver a narrative script for the voice over dialogue.
As for the remaining interviews, in a perfect world there are only six
to go. Two of them take place in Australia, one in Arizona and three
in Los Angeles.
Then there are the reshoots. Fortunately we have only found one
remaining for the moment, having already reshot two interviews several
months ago.
This documentary has taken us across the United States more than once,
as we have shot in New York, New Jersey, Florida, Nevada to name a few.
In addition, we just recently returned from England where we filmed
Bernie Torme, Lindsay Bridgwater, Johnny Cook, Chris Tsangrides, Pete
Way, Lee Kerslake, Max Norman and a few surprise interviews.
We also shot extensively at Ridge Farm studios where the band lived
and recorded for long periods of time while the records were being
produced.
With six interviews to go and ninety seven in the can, I will report
again when all the principal photography is complete and the editing
is further along.
Thank you for your continued support.

I bet it's Scott Shelly. RR's early guitar teacher.

Does anyone know how Lee Kerslake is ? I heard about a year ago that he was very poorly and had to quit from playing for Uriah Heep.I'm thinking that he must be alot better if he was up for giving interviews etc.

I was thinking how the interviews are going to fit into the docu which is going to be about 2 hours long plus the extras. 'Quote Peter'- "With six interviews to go and ninety seven in the can." So thats going to be a hell of alot of interviews, with only a couple of minutes per interview ?. But knowing that some great choice musicians and friends of Randy's are in the can this should turn out to be a very good movie.

Well I may hope that Pete Mertons will get more than a couple minutes.....
I think the people who really had contact with Randy and really have somethng to share should get more than a few minutes. Lets not hope they all get just 2 minutes to say what an angel and inspiration Randy was...... :x

btw: who is financing the documentary?

I doubt that Pete will get much time. Remember that Peter has said that this movie is about Randy Rhoads the person not about Randy Rhoads the the guitarist. As such, I'd guess the bulk will be interviews with people who knew him well rather than people who worked with him.

As for the number of interviews, documentaries are usually based around soundbites these days.

Bah! What did Randy Rhoads "the person" have to do with all the interviewees that never met him?
One thing that's sad about Randy's short career is that since it was so short, people run out of things to talk about when it comes to his music, they have to turn to his favorite foods, his shoe size, and nail growing habits.
Pete Mertons is probably the ONLY person the documentary will interview that I'd really like to hear from.
