Any news on the movie?

I am with Patrick on the film, I want an honest acount or Randy with all his faults laid out. I think that without them it will be a representation of an angel. I know he was no angel and perhaps this film will make a path for more films and footage in future years.
I think that if the Osbournes don't participate it leaves things open for a film or even audio releases in the coming years, I am sure thast we will all welcome them opening up to the fans what they hold in secret. I imagine that they will watch with interest the goings on of Peters film and then decide how to best present the stpry of them and Randy. This will really make way for us getting access to the kind of materieal we are all interested in seeing.
I also hope however that Peter lives up to my expectations of him and his project.

the film will be what it will be...i think anything is very fortunate considering randy never achieved fame of hendrix or clapton or evh and to get anything 30yrs after his passing is remarkable...
Im sure it wont meet unrealistic expectations like ozzy tour footage.
Im not that interested either in hearing third hand accounts from zakk wylde types or worshiping nonsense like at rr.tk.But there is only about 12 months of ozzy concert stuff with randy excluding the uk tour so dont expect the world.Expect very little and be pleasantly surprised and also live YOUR life.

I honestly think that if the Osbourne camp had anything of Randy footage or any home video from that time we would of seen this before now. I don't want to sound like i'm saying we will never see any footage, but i just think that if they did have any, this would of seen the light of day. When the 'Tribute' album was put out, it would of been great to see a video of Live footage then and it would of been very fitting to do it then. The 'Crazy Train' video with the RR PDV flying along the track was very poor with just loads of stills of Randy playing live etc. I've always thought this because of that reason and if they did have any, it would of came out then.It could be a massive money spinner for them and great for the fans. But do they need to do this to make money ? Well merchendise from the Ozz fests alone has broke all records . But we all hope one day we may see something. But i don't think the Osbournes will be trying to cash in on making any Randy docu's film etc they don't need to, the money is in the bank for them regardless..Trigger wrote:I think that if the Osbournes don't participate it leaves things open for a film or even audio releases in the coming years, I am sure thast we will all welcome them opening up to the fans what they hold in secret. I cross my fingers for this like all true RR fans.oth wrote:Expect very little and be pleasantly surprised.

True, but one can wonder why they didn't bring out the whole "After Hours" show then? They could add some of that news report stuff to make it even more complete. Why not? What could be the objection? (especially if it's the only footage they have) I think at that time there has happened so many crap behind the scenes that stopped the Osbournes to release any more Randy stuff...... Remember what Bob Daisley said about Mrs Rhoads sueing the Osbournes for years for some money. And even if there isn't any more footage they still could have done a lot more imo. But even that didn't happen.GUITARIDOL5682 wrote:When the 'Tribute' album was put out, it would of been great to see a video of Live footage then and it would of been very fitting to do it then. So the Osbournes not releasing any Randy stuff out of respect for Mrs. Rhoads makes perfectly sense to me..... (FWIW)
(I don't buy the "there is no more ...." comment at all

(unless the Osbournes secretly participate though...)
The winner of the rat race is still a rat.
I find it hard to believe when Bob says that Mrs. Rhoads sued the Osbournes for money. If someone else said this, I'd probably buy it, but not from Bob. Bob is far too embroiled and bitter as far as royalties for me to take him seriously when offering information concerning the Osbournes and how they handle money.

I wonder if there is some truth in it (The Bob Dailsey post) but it is exagerated then.
Maybe there were some legal things both lawyers from each respective side were working out, and ths has been called sueing?
I have to admit as weakness. I read evidence about Ozzy and Sharon being ruthless etc but everytime I hear ozzy speak my heart warms to him and he is so funny too. I suppose I just don't want to believe he is capable of being nasty.

We all know regardless of Peter's film that the O's have all the outakes from 2 albums as well as a whole show from 1980!The Flying Dutchman wrote:True, but one can wonder why they didn't bring out the whole "After Hours" show then? That combined with the video will makes the best gift that us true RR fans could wish to recieve

I know Peter's film will be interesting and very much wanted but when the Osboune's realise how much $£ is at stake they will decide to use it, that I am sure of.
If I were them I would wait and see what PM's film does for the RR market or wait until Ozzy was to ill to perform/record, I would also be waiting for the most opotune time to let my RR archive open.
I am not a greedy bastard but if I put myself in there place thats what I would be planning. As a person in business it makes perfect sense to wait, I wouldn't let one second of film or audio out until I was ready to market it myself.
This is why I feel Peter's film will be a fantastic door opening for a future release of the kind of stuff I as a fan wish to see.

Some while back I remember Peter saying he was "having difficulty" getting the Osbourne's permission to use the music even on the studio Ozzy albums.
I wonder if this has changed?
The picture on the films myspace site is still the Quiet Riot picture.

I imagine the film could be the difinative acount of Randy's QR days with reserched reference to the more interesting Ozzy period.Matthew wrote:Some while back I remember Peter saying he was "having difficulty" getting the Osbourne's permission to use the music even on the studio Ozzy albums.

I think even if it has limited reference to Ozzy it will be interesting enough to download or see.

I am so 'Rhoadsed out' at the moment the thought of anything Randy Rhoads doesn't excite me one little bit.
If it wasn't for the fact that so many other things unrelated to Randy (albeit inspired by Randy) were talked about at UR, I think I would have driven around the bend along time back LOL!!
Marshalls, Jacksons, MXR pedals, Karl bloody Sandoval, hidden footage...
AGHHHH.
ENOUGH!! LMAO
