I CAN NOT WAIT until we have a thread about Chicken Cordon Blue! Woohoo! What will that take? A thread about Jimmy Page?

I've been told it involved "milking a horse" and "chugging contest". That's all the info I needed to not watch it

Peace

Hendrix was the pioneer to everything we have been using in Rock N Roll with a guitar, but you guys need to take note that after his MUSICAL DIRECTOR passed away it was like when the beatles lost there own director, and people nagged him saying his music sucked, i have seen videos of Jimi telling people to go F themselves and the pop tunes assuming his manager had his own supporters trying to convince him to work under contract, while it was clear Jimi wrote and sand great pop tunes, beautiful psychedelic music that left us all cherry picking our favorites based on taste his playing was un predictable then., he was ripped off and died suspiciously!

In my opinion Hendrix changed Rock guitar, Page took it into a journey while Eddie added a new generation that Randy Rhoads took to the limit.

Randy is my favorite rock and all around guitarists in the world for me, i yet to find anyone who has offered a complete guitar method, style and sound in one package., other then his looks and performances been cool as well, in Ozzy's band anyway., i also like the mick ronson Bowie thing and wonder if his direction would of moved into areas like that.

Over the last 25 or so years NO ONE has been able to match anything like what Randy did!

My opinion.

I agree 100% GR, RR lifted rock music up at a time when to my ears it was starting to become tired and to this day those riffs and ozzy tracks still sound current.

I think Randy trespassed onto musical areas that to this day make it hard to compare him to other rock guitarists.

In regards to Hendrix and Page, they make my jaw drop to this day too. It is more than just the playing but the writing, producing skills and versatility (especially Page).

Ed has said many times that he did not invent tapping. When was that Chet video recorded?

Ed brought the idea of tapping to the mainstream and turned it into an art form. Jimi simply revolutionized the way lead guitar was approached and made the guitar the focus as opposed to the vocals being the focus. Regardless of the number of talented guitar players prior to Hendrix, the focus of songs was always the vocals. Jimi blew people's minds and made the focus the guitar.

That Chet Atkins video was probably filmed in the mid 60s, early color.

Jimi Hendrix died long before he physically left, the greedy racist punks around him had even drugged him up to sign off publishing, Hendrix was a extraordinary blues guitarists who like punk or even hardcore took it to the extreme by playing this style of music faster, heavier and combining it with new technologies., later when people started calling what some describe as playing Rolling Stones covers 2 times faster as punk some started connecting the black dots to the roots of music, since hendrix there have been several african artists who still bring ground breaking original music way ahead of the trends, for example, take Dr.Know of Bad Brains, if this band did not exist you would of never heard of Mettalica or Living Color to name a few, he practically invented the idea of a huge tight sound even bands like Judas Preist could not re produce on any stage., and people still don't get it, very few do.

Randy contributed on even a deeper level with music, i would recommend listening to Kelle his brother so you can hear the types of influences he had at home, because Randy died too early it makes it difficult to understand what he was doing unless one dives into the mystery of his musical saga., but it is well worth it and i think very rich and colerful.
