I mean that I view it that man has a hand with his bias in scripture. I do not think it is the word of God. I have come to realise that when in doubt ask directly for yourself.

And how do you know if God is speaking to you, answering that question, and it's not just something you thought up for yourself?Matthew wrote:I mean that I view it that man has a hand with his bias in scripture. I'm with you on this 100% Paul.Paul Wolfe wrote:The difference, Matt, is that the Bible states all foods are clean and it states that a man is to be with a woman. Sodom and Gomorrah were the epitome of homosexuality and sin, and they were destroyed because they refused to follow the laws of God.
Homosexuality isn't okay now because it's "safe", it was never "unsafe". It's not okay - in my opinion - because God said so.
It is unatural for two men to be together, and two woman to be together. The Bib le says that this is not right and nature tells us this is not right.

NDW: "How can I know this communication is from God? How do I know this is not my own imagination?"
"God": "Do you not see that I could just as easily work through your imagination as anything else?"

Then we can in every true sense of the word politely agree to disagreePaul Wolfe wrote:And that is exactly how I feel regarding the Bible being the infallible Word of God.Matthew wrote:It is a feeling that ever inch of my gut instinct is willing to risk life or death on.

Godbless you Paul

I know 2 Lesbian women who are VERY Christian, one has become a sel-abuser because she feel her natural feeling make her a sinner and she does not feel they can be changed. The other threw away her long term love to be with a man as she feels the Bible tells. Both are friends and both are very unstaible.Logan wrote:I'm with you on this 100% Paul.Paul Wolfe wrote:The difference, Matt, is that the Bible states all foods are clean and it states that a man is to be with a woman. I am not judging here but I do find it sad that they feel they have to change.

OR, maybe a fucked up society that has introduced so many chemicals into the human body that brain damage can occur? Satan is the cause of the aberrations, Jesus is the cure. The Flying Dutchman wrote:What about transexuals......
It has been examined and their brains do indeed differ from non-transexuals. (maybe a little mistake from god....) If they can't get surgery what should they do? What advice give the bible to these people?
The Bible gives the advice to pray and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ through whom anything is possible.
Matthew 4:23
"Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people."
Matthew 8:1-3
"When he came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, "Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean." Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Immediately he was cured of his leprosy."
Jeremiah 33:2-3
"This is what the LORD says, he who made the earth, the LORD who formed it and established it—the LORD is his name: 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'
Luke 13:10-16
On a Sabbath Jesus was teaching in one of the synagogues, and a woman was there who had been crippled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten up at all. When Jesus saw her, he called her forward and said to her, "Woman, you are set free from your infirmity." Then he put his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.
Indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, the synagogue ruler said to the people, "There are six days for work. So come and be healed on those days, not on the Sabbath."
The Lord answered him, "You hypocrites! Doesn't each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it out to give it water? Then should not this woman, a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be set free on the Sabbath day from what bound her?"
John 20:30-31
"Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name."
As for your lesbian friends, Ian, it sounds like they have accepted the idea that they need to change, but have not completely let go of what they feel needs to be changed.
As for feeling sad that they felt they had to change, try exchanging lesbianism with laziness - if a person is lazy and doesn't work at bettering (educating or training) themselves and then complains that they are not qualified for better paying jobs with higher income, should that person change themselves or accept their place in life and move along? And, no, I'm not equating lesbianism with laziness, I am illustrating a concept. Obviously (to me, anyway) these women were not completely happy as they were living, or they would not have changed.
People who are truly happy inside with who they are do not change.
Read the book Run Baby Run by Nicky Cruz - it's all about choosing to change.
When A guy has natural feelings of anger it should be okay to beat his wife and kids? Or It is very natural for me to get mad when a guy knowingly cuts me off at the stoplight, It should be okay to beat the shit out of him?Trigger wrote:I know 2 Lesbian women who are VERY Christian, one has become a sel-abuser because she feel her natural feeling make her a sinner and she does not feel they can be changed. It was very natural for my uncle Raymond to get absolutely shit faced to the point of unconsiousness every day and night, does that mean that's okay?
please define natural I'm curious as to people's definitions.
Also I think there isa a tendency for people to say that anything goes. When does it stop? When is it not okay for someone to do something?

As in existentialism thinking; I would say something is okay if the other/s concerned agreed. A violent person taking out his/her anger on a other person (I assume without their consent too!) maybe natural to their own feeling but not to the other.
A gay couple are enjoying each other and not harming anyone. It may not produce a child, because evolution in humans has seen to it that hetrosexuals produce kids and not homosexuals.
However...they gain from it (sexual union) by natural means-hense it is natural.
Just my thoughts
