im not convinced this is the real deal, it would be very easy to make up a fade and add it on the end IMO. Also wouldnt the fade sound like it did live? since randy liked to have a good idea of what he would play for a solo.

and as an aside, i cant see guitar hero paying their souls to get master tapes of ozzy if they could fix a cheaper deal or simply not have ozzy onboard. other games have given up huge licenses when they feel the cost is not worth it. and ozzy is just one artist.

I definitly have to agree here. I wouldn't understand after over these years, without hearing the full outro solo, why would we finally hear it. Especially if it's coming from a game.

More than likely, they didn't have to pay ANYTHING upfront to use the songs. They give the osbournes a cut of total sales. Not a bad deal considering that Guitar Hero has legitamately sold over a $1 billion in sales....

Read the article above and tell me that it's hard to believe thatthe osbournes gave permission...could be the most lucrative deal they've ever made! Not only that, with the game having sold more than 14 MILLION units, it's a GREAT branding idea for Ozzy in that it helps guarantee that a new generation of kid's will grow up to be Ozzy fans. Do you know how many 10 year olds now know who the band Dragonforce is, simply because they're in guitar hero?????? It's ridiculous HUGE advertising for these bands. Record sales are shit these days so this is the new stream!

I am still with you on this, I would sooner Ozzy clarified this before I believe it.

I'm going to have to put my vote on the side of not Randy playing. The vibrato and whammy bar is different. I do admit that whoever is playing did a damn fine job. It's really close though...

Vibrato is also a part of the game. in the parts that sound like the vibrato or whammy is off, take a look at the lines or "notes" on the screen as they go by. If they appear wavy, it means that the player is using the whammy bar on the controller. You get extra points if you use the whammy on long notes. When you use the whammy, it actually modulates the guitar track sound. I was waiting for someone to mention it.

Sorry, i've never seen or played GH before. I didn't realize that your performance actually affected the sound of the guitar. That explains the drop-outs on the first solo....
I thought you just got points to pushing the buttons accurately..... Kid's these days... Get off my lawn....

Exactly. I noticed a few of the dropouts, but there weren't many so whoever was playing the game was pretty good! lol

Just listened to it and it's certainly not me....

I think it's Randy what they did is they copied the last part of the first solo to the end of the second solo.
Listen at 3:05 (some hammer on's and pull off's following by a dive bomb) Exactly the same pattern one can hear at 5:37.
It's exactly the same....... :)

When a person pays for the master tracks of a song they have the right to mix the song anyway they want, even have tracks playing backward in it for example. GH crew weren't obligated to fade the song out, obviously. I just read an interview with Ozzy and he said the game uses the masters and then he goes on about his likeness being in the game.. It is Rhoads

Ozzy has said there is no video of Randy and the only live recording was the one released as Tribute... maybe it is legit, but Ozzy has been known to twist the truth.

Well you got me on this, Ozzy has said MANY foot in mouth statements and personally, I wouldn't think Ozzy himself to have the wherewithall to actually know what is truly going on in and around Osbourne, Inc. Sharon is the master of Osbourne, Inc. and it seems Ozzy is just fine with it like that.

Ozzy has said MANY foot in mouth statements
It is more like Cloven Hoof in mouth statements. The magic of the clown prince of darkness is that there is no truth. The original Mr. Crowley, who died in 1947, published many arcane and mysterious books---yet not one of those works totally gave away the secret of his occult art.

Believe what thou wilt.

It could or could not be RR

It sounds legit..... it would be nice of Ozzy released a "Guitar Hero" version of Blizzard the same way Metallica has a GH version of their new CD "Death Magnetic". Someone ripped the entire Album from the game and it's been all over the internet, It sounds much cleaner than the retail CD. I wonder if anyone could rip the Mr Crowley track from the game so we all can enjoy.

I don't think it's fair to assume Ozzy has any idea as to what he is talking about when it comes to what went on in the 80s aside from "I played with RR, I got married, then I had 3 kids." Everything else, I'm sure he's a bit foggy.
