Sonnet for Granddad.
I stood by his grave today.
The wind pushed through the trees.
I waited to hear what he had to say.
The wind simmered into a breeze.
I told him all that I‘ve done,
As I laid a rose filled bouquet.
I felt his pride over his grandson,
And he let me know he’s okay.
The wind started to stir again.
It was time to get in the car.
I felt easy with no inner pain.
So soon was it time to travel far.
I looked back and gave a gentle smile.
I have no regrets and no denial.
Yes, you have read that right, It is an uplifting poem!
