What do you think?

i'm probably not going to win any friends with this one but here goes...
the guy has yet to be charged with a crime. he has done nothing illegal and i think the restraining orders and injunctions are probably illegal. all the chest thumping by politicians in the media is a dog-and-pony show for the cameras.
actually, this guy has done us a favor. he has identified himself as a pedophile. you have a name and a photo.
far more sinister are the creeps who live out their sickness in anonymity.

Alex, I agree, this guy needs help. I re-read my post and realized I didn't express my thought properly. I meant he should be locked away in a mental institution where he could be dealt with.
As for saying it's the same as saying homosexuals should be locked up, I disagree. Homosexuality is not something I agree with as a Christian BUT the good Lord gave us all the freedom of choice. I don't feel anyone should be locked up because they choose to be homosexual. To consenting adults should have the freedom to live the lifestyle they want, regardless of whether I think it's right or wrong.
I see this guy in CA as a time-bomb. He hasn't currently broken any laws, but he's catering to people who will. The politicians are definitely grandstanding on the case, but so what? The more publicity against the guy, the better.
If I publicly stated that I disagreed with the government and set up a website discussing how to build bombs and bring down governments, I would be arrested as a threat. This guy admits to having thoughts about sexual activity with young girls - that makes him a threat.
If he is upset that he's not allowed around children, maybe he should rethink his life choices or see professional help. If he were to publicly admit that he understands why people are offended and publicly announces that he is seeking counseling, then I think people might give him a break.

Yes, I do.The Flying Dutchman wrote:Do you really think homosexuals choose to be homosexuals !Paul Wolfe wrote:I don't feel anyone should be locked up because they choose to be homosexual.
Leviticus 18:22 - "Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman, that is detestable."
In my opinion, and you are all free to have your own opinions on this, the Holy Bible is God's word. In the Bible He says that homosexuality is wrong. I also believe God created the human race. Based on that belief, it naturally follows that a being created by God would not inherently be contrary to God's will.
In other words, God wouldn't say "homosexuality is wrong" and then create a bunch of homosexuals.
So, yes, I do feel that homosexual behavior is a choice. God also gave mankind the the freedom to choose between the rules He gave us and whatever we choose to do.

Oke if your bible says that, fair enough.Paul Wolfe wrote:Yes, I do.The Flying Dutchman wrote:Do you really think homosexuals choose to be homosexuals !Paul Wolfe wrote:I don't feel anyone should be locked up because they choose to be homosexual.

So it's a choice right?
Lets assume we only know a God who says that falling in love with a woman is a wrong choice. (heterosexuality is just wrong....) Again, it's a choice right? But luckily also this God gave us the freedom of choice

Do you really think it will work out........?
Do you really think you have a choice?
Can you really help it that this God maybe made a little mistake and programmed you to fall in love with a woman? I don't think so.
So you choose to fall in love with women? You do not just like them without making a choice? Yep maybe for that particular woman, but not for liking women sexuality wise in general. I don't think you can choose for that.
Go talk with your next door homosexual who had been married for 15 years and really tried, maybe even going to doctors etc., having kids etc and finally had to divorce. Tell him that he made the wrong choice.........
I think the only one who really can be blamed here is our 'Good old Lord' because of his inperfection of creating people not 'as designed' .

Just my 0,99 cents!

I always wondered that if it was a choice to be gay...why anyone would choose it, especially if there is such hate for the homosexual community. Why would you want to be hated like that?
Anyhoo, I don't think people are categorized into gay and straight really anyway. I think largely that a member of one sex can be physically attracted to the other sex, but that doesn't mean they'll fall in love with a member of that one sex. I think love is pretty random like that. I remember hearing a story about a widowed woman who had been married happily for like 40 years to a man and then he died suddenly. She started a relationship with a woman and is very happy.

and that is your opinion, and I respect that.Paul Wolfe wrote:My boss for 5 years was a gay woman and we had every conversation imaginable on the subject.
The fact remains that in my opinion it is a choice.
I don't think that a person chooses to be gay. A friend of mine knew something was wrong when she was pretty young. She went on a few dates with men, and that's when she realized men were not for her. She didn't choose to like women, it was something that she says she always knew she was gay.
Just my opinion.
Better people....

And better beer.

+1
I have lots of gay customers and friends, I also have a gay family none of whom seem to be doing it for fashion or choice. I remember people were afraid of gay people because they feared a gay person trying to somehow catch them and force gay sex on them!!!! it was all very silly and showed nothing but ignorance.

You won't upset me Frank, I believe that it is wrong to chastise anyone before they are found guilty of the crime they have been charged with. When the media wips up a storm over allegations they risk prejudicing the outcome of a trial and perverting the course of justice.frank wrote:i'm probably not going to win any friends with this one but here goes...
