imagine my dismay. that's my guitar lesson.
I thought it was your lesson, yeah must be very werid, but nice in the same way. He seems like he was a very calm and nice guy and it seems im not the only person who thinks that.
Now I hope your still playing and practising those chord progressions!

hey frank, so how long do you think you'd been playing guitar when this lesson was taped? was it one of your first lessons with randy?
also on a less relevant note what guitar did you have back then?

p.s. i though your playing sounded ok
ahhh, you're too kind. actually i had been 'dinking' with guitars since i was about 12 but i had no idea what i was doing. i was 23 at this point. i started in mar '78 and this was july. randy set me uo with a westminister lp copy, a fender champ and a mxr dist+ from musonia.
well frank you sound a lot better than me lol its strange because it reminds me of my lessons with gareth, both randy and gareth give the same vibe and playing and attitude in teaching, very relaxed

yeah i kind of understand where your coming from.
i got a guitar when i was 6 or 7 but didn't have the fainatest clue what i was doing and i was too impatient back then to learn, i figure getting the guitar was an impulse thing...
i wish i had started learning back then... all those wasted years...

I Hear you rice pudding. Same here. So many wasted years. the good thing is, we're never to old to learn.

[quote="rice_pudding"]do you ever get the feeling failure came due to a lack of inspiration?
im certain that if i had heard randy or some good blues or metal i would have had a go at it... as it was all i had back then was top of the pops [/quote
For me it was never a lack of inspiration. I had Tony Iommi when I was in 5th grade and Ace Frehley. Then RANDY came into the picture for me with The Blizzard Of Ozz. I was always inspired, just a tad bit lazy as well as not quite the talent. lol
