I really don't think that Randy would forget to put an "a" in Rhoads or the "s".

I never even noticed  no chance you'll be getting fooled into buying this one then...
nope, not at all.
I don't think I'd buy anything autographed by anyone.
It looses its charm if it was for someone else. I'd rather have the signature given to me by the person themselves, or if someone got it for me.

Well Joe you've stumbled across an interesting one here !!.The guy who is selling this is either genuine or he's spinning a yarn.If you've read about the signature i won,its from the same town and the very same record shop this signing was done. But the one thing that is different is that Lee Kerslake's signature is on this and the other guy has stated that Lee wasn't at the signing ?? Its funny aswell as this guy bunked off school aswell ?? the date he's mentioned is totally wrong July ?? i think it was October.Plus the one below mentions that the signing was the following day after the gig.So he's either got his facts wrong or the one i've got is a fake...
(Quote)
Back when i was a spotty 16 year old school kid back in 1980, myself and some friends sneaked off school early to go to an album signing at Vallances Records on Chapel Walk, Sheffield.
His Ozzness and the legendary guitarist Randy Rhoads, along with other members Lee Kerslake & Bob Daisley stood for an hour patiently signing records and chatting to fans before leaving to play a gig at Sheffield City Hall later that day (July 10th i think) this was one of the many albums signed that day.

This was the description (below) that went with the signed Blizzard 1980 UK Tour programme that i won on ebay....I can remember that the band did alot of promo work and signings before and after the gigs during the 1980 tour. But by reading the memories from this person below it reminds me of a similar signing Ozzy & co done at Virgin records in Newcastle.
(Quote 2)
This is a tour programme for Ozzy Osbournes first solo tour. Bought at Sheffield City Hall. The programme is not pristine, but not in a bad condition. It still contains the pull out poster, which was on my wall at the time so has a small hole in each corner and the top left corner has a 3" tear, the piece is still attached.

However this programme is signed by Ozzy, Bob Daisley and Randy Rhoads. (if you have read this far and don't know who Randy Rhoads was you won't be bidding)

The day after the Gig at the City Hall there was a record signing at Valences Record Shop on Chapel Walk in Sheffiled city centre. (I bunked off school to go). This was a record shop on top of an electrical retailer. We were allowed upstairs en masse. There were some bouncers there who were shouting at people to move back, Ozzy kept shouting at people to push forward. He was dressed in a fur coat and had his nails painted black. We queued up to get Ozzy and Randy Rhoads autograph, no one seemed interested in Bob Daisley, but I got his autograph anyway, Lee Kerslake wasn't there that day, so I didn't get his signature. Bob Daisley was wearing a Rainbow - 'Down to Earth' Tee Shirt, which i thought was unusual as he had not long before been sacked by Ritchie Blackmore.

This seller is totally having a laugh this item is not just for one RR signature but two $49 starting price.I thought this was a bargain so i checked out his other items.Well who's signature has he not got.?? Would you like a fully signed Led Zep LP including John Bonham or what about The Who fully signed Magic Bus including the late Keith Moon and John Entwistle. The list goes on...... i wouldn't buy anything from this guy all his signatures are forged from originals.

I remember seeing a signed copy of 'Blizzard' up for sale on eBay about 3 years ago, Sounds great doesn't it!
Not that one it was a signed CD and it had Randy's signature along with Rudy Ozzy and Tommy.

Although

I knew someone who would take coppies of albums to different signings to make sure he got all the band members involved on the right albums.
I tell this story because if his copy of 'Diary' was to turn up on eBay who would believe that his copy with Randy Ozzy Bob and Lee was real, or his Blizzard from the USA 81 release that has Ozzy Randy Lee and Bob!

We would all call him a liar because buying Randy's signature is tough he wasn't a big name untill he was taken away from us.

But Shaun I hope your Randy signature is the real thing, I dream of owning something that Randy put writing on and for me it doesn't have to be his name, I would be happy with a full stop. like that one :)

Hey ho! I can drean I guess :(

Ian i've seen a few original signatures that i can compare this one too.I've got an original photocopy of a signed programme the same as the one i've got and its the same the only difference is that Ozzy's signature is a little bit different how he's joined the Y in Ozzy to the O in Osbourne. He doesn't normaly do this. But i'm going to get the autographs officialy authenticated. They test the ink for how long its been on the paper. So if it was put on yesterday, i've got a forgery. It's a tried and tested method which sounds like a simple way to say if its genuine or forged. But some people must think we haven't a clue! a fully signed CD from 1980 ? CD's were just being thought about in the early 80's.But the best one i seen was a signed Tribute card i thought it was a printed signature until i read the description.I just cringe when people bid on badly signed items when more sense should tell you not to go there..

I thought you guys might find this kinda funny. I started reading this thread from the beginning. As I got further into the thread, I started noticing posts describing a BOO cover that was similar to the one I recently purchased. I had no idea where this thread was taking me, but to the same BOO cover I just got. Maybe you had to be there...

I bought my way into trying to have a closer connection with Randy. I'm sure it cannot compare to those of you out there who actually met or knew Randy.

BTW, Frank... Love that postcard....

Well zennman i'm sure you'll be happy to see that your item didn't get the vote of being a fake.I've seen Randy's signature written a few times on the back of the LP cover and he would put his signature in the same place.I think this has been mentioned before,i hope you found the thread of interest to the relief of not being the owner of a well forged item. The previous owner posted the pics up that you have posted up.So its good to see that its gone to a good home LOL!!

I seen these signatures on ebay and i noticed a big comparison with the two autographs above. So these could be a late edition of Randy's signature.

Years ago I had a port vale Tourbook signed by them and it looked just like this.. I been studying RRs Autograph so long now (20+ years )
I can spot a real one ,Just like the one posted above the guys story didnt match someone elses well it was 26 years ago people dont remember I know I dont!! But the guy said Lee wasnt there Maybe lee left early or showed up late.. I looked at the Signed Blizzard album and Bought it.. Its a nice piece .. Bobs pen was not working well he tried to sign 3 times
Lees looks a little sloppy but its Lees signature and Randys The Slant is there the Pressure from the pen is in all the right places. the ways the letters connect Its Randys Autograph.. Ozzy is Right on also.. I thought it was a good find.. I would grab that port vale Piece..

This is an interesting site which covers what to look out for with ebay forgeries and general faked signatures. They'll look at your signatures to authenticate them for 10 euro's each.

You can see Randy's signature in the Blizzard of Ozz tour programme scan I have put up for download. Not real as its part of a poster of the band together with the other signatures.

I was just on RR TK and they have a topic about real Randy autographs ,One guy posted a photo of one on a Blizzard album. What a joke Its a Fake.. I cant beleive all these hard core Randy fans get suckered in to buying a fake and then they see a real one and think its fake.. Im not knocking rr tk but when you try to help someone out over there they think your trying to Rip them off or something so I just Give up .
If these people want to buy Fake autographs go ahead.. At least on this forum we post real ones to try to help or fellow RR fan so he wont get burned!! I feel better now that I vented. Im here to help anyone that needs it.. Later Dave..
