Randy, Eddie and Yngwie have all said Ritchie Blackmore was a big influence. In fact, in the early '80's Yngwie dressed just like Blackmore, played a faded cream strat just like him and had the neck scalloped just like him...

Check out the stuff he does with his Wife, Candice Night - the band is called Blackmore's Night. Personlly, i LOVE it... but then I am also pagan... and a bellydancer..... so naturally this kind of music is right up my alley.

Check em out if ya haven't and give em a chance...

Shadow of the Moon is awesome. It's definitely my favorite. And the artist who did the cover art for it, Johanna Pieterson, is an excellent artist. Here's her website: http://www.johannas-art.com/

Candice has an AMAZING voice.

no problem. this woman does portraits, too... you can send her a pic of yourself and she will paint you into some fantasy-type scene... i'm sure it's expensive as all get out, but nonetheless, awesome. She has alot of portraits that she has done of Stevie Nicks, that's how I found her... and then once at her site, found out about the whole Blackmore's Night cover art. I was pleasantly surprised to say the least.

I have seen hours and hours of Blackmore footage and to me Ritchie was either hot or cold as a player. When he was hot, he'd melt your brain. When he was cold, he'd put you to sleep! I myself like to see more consistency in a player, from show to show. He did write many archtypical riffs of hard rock and metal though!
Oh bring me some CHUNKY PUDDING, and bring it RIGHT NOW!!!
