Randy's Dimarzio Super Distortion

Hey you guys know how he used the dimarzio distortion pickup? well I have a different les paul and can only use p90s and i was wondering if i got the p90 super distortion it would work as good as it worked on his polka dot flying v.... help please?

i think the P90 SD is exactly what it says.
