Long before, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden or even Queensryche, the Seattle band was RAIL.

In 1983 they won the first ever "Basement Tapes" competition on MTV THe competition was for unsigned bands to submit a video and have viewers all over the country vote by phone for the band they thought was the best. When the tally was done after weeks of the show being on the air, RAIL was the winner.

I came across this site with the video for the song Hello which won that competition. Just thought I'd share...

Do you remember Jon Bon Jovi around the Slippery When Wet era, Frank? I had that hair for a time. My mom would give me a perm in the basement... fortunately I don't know of any photos of that time in my life.

I also had "Boz" hair:
