Totally off topic but why can't I upload a cd in 2013?

I have an old recording of a tape or few tapes of an old friend who had this jazz guitarist who lived next door. He plays beautifully and it's in a free setting, not a concert. I tried to upload on youtube but it failed. Why can I not upload the audio? It says the video failed but there is no video. Any help? Why can't there just be an easy solution?

Usually YT gives a reason for the failure, such as length, was there no reason given?

Wait.... You're trying to upload like an .mp3 to Youtube? It won't let you do that.

You have to throw it in a video (It can be a blank video, but it has to be in a video format) THEN upload it. You can't just upload an audio file.

If you're looking to upload the audio to something, try BandCamp.com or something. Or drag out Windows Movie Maker and throw the song on there, with a blank picture or something and then render it, and upload it (Make sure it's in a format Youtube accepts)
