......explain what the rally was for in Washington a few days ago?
Ozzy was on stage with Yusof Islam and they all had lots of fun, I just wondered what they were trying to achieve/say? I could read the articles but I thought it would be more interesting to get oppinions.
Here is the video of the Ozzy/Islam part.

It was a mock (for the most part)rally by two Comedy Central comedians, meant to smack at a previous conservative rally held by Glen Beck of Fox News and many who support the t.e.a. (taxed enough already) party movement (Rally to Restore America)
Comedy Central as well as many, many in the media have marginalized and made fun of those who do not support the Obama administration or more importantly, the democratically controlled Congress, and written them off as angry, hate filled racist bigot homo-phobes (obviously there are a small amount of nuts in every group, but the majority are just sick of the BS coming out of Washington). I am hoping that the joke will be on them after todays elections

This is so ironic then Darin because this was to mock the right wing and Ozzy helped? yet during the Summer Ozzy played a show in Israel the most right wing country on the planet!!! not to mention was the Guest of GWB (the most right wing President in US history) at a Washington dinner.
He also Hated Margaret Thatcher Britains most hated right wing Prime Minister and even offered to sleep with her if it helped to calm her down!
Ozzy has no idea of what Politics are or he would be consistant?

I don't know, but if you've seen the performance he did that day, I'd say it was disappointing.
I don't know if Gus toned down his playing for that gig, or if he's going to play like that, but that was THE most boring performance of Crazy Train I've ever seen. He played NO fills whatsoever, nor did he even play the intro. (Or intro solo)
I saw it on youtube, and well, I was extremely disappointed about it.

Crypt' it was all just filler for the joke and without his own well rehersed band it will always sound very weak.

Sharon would have Ozzy play Charles Manson's birthday party if it paid enough
and Ian, honestly, I wouldn't consider either rally a left wing or right wing per say. The uproar against the democratically controlled government was not by "right-wing" people exclusively or even predominantly. It was more fiscal conservatives or political moderates, not so much social conservatives, which I would more associate with right-wing. This was all about the economy and not wanting to go THAT far to the left. When it comes down to it, the USA is more center than anything else. When it starts swinging too far either way, people start to freak out a bit.

He had Gus with him. The rest of the band sounded fine (IMO) it was just Gus who sounded weak. I understand that it was just filler, and he was (I hope) just not trying to show off or anything. I'm just saying, it sounded very poor to me.

So hopefully it was just Gus who toned his playing down for the sake of not showing off at that gig then.

If you take that rally seriously (in the political sense) then you probably missed the point. I am surprised that they got Ozzy to perfom in snipits. I wouldn't even regard that as a performance...just entertainment.
