Newcastle, Robert Mckee and GuitarIdol5682

Post by JustTakeAPebble »

Hi Guys

Well so much to say, so tired and about three jack and cokes in my system and here I am typing from my hotel room, and who would have thought that so much can happen in just a short timeframe.

Here comes the story, what is it with me and stories, I have NO idea!

I am in Newcastle simply because I am attending a writers seminar by hollywood legend Robert Mckee and through
all what he has said, I have now been able to identify areas that my scripts I have wrote were lacking and now have the knowledge of how to handle such problems in the future. Making connections with a producer, talking to other writers, you know that old chestnut!

SO! At this conference, along came a phonecall from a number I didn't recognise, it was Shaun aka "GuitarIdol" and case of meet up for a pint before I head off home tomorrow, and why not? After all I've met Matt and co! So I'm waiting for him at the monument not knowing what Shaun looks like and I was like shit, what do I do? I rang him, no answer (dumb enough to notice that the phone number I was ringing was his house) then it dawned at me that I had a badge with my full name and university on it, so I was walking around hoping someone would see it, people looked but were they shaun? no.. So out of deperation I took my notepad that I used to write notes from the seminar, and wrote in big effin letters RANDY RHOADS RULES! I mean seriously, how many people would do that in Newcastle, you'll see "Money please" but I thought naturally in Newcastle, if you're gunna look for a fellow UltimateRhoads member, the one holding "RANDY RHOADS RULES" would be some sort of link to a forum of sorts... ANYWAYS, turns out I didnt need it as he recognised me straight out. >_> and it was a perfectably good notepad too!

Anyways so we drank, talked about every topic under the sun and we got back to Shaun's place (now Matt, if you're reading this, no sausaging jokes!) and he showed me photographs, memoribilia everything! I couldn't believe it! (Thanks again shaun for not only your company but everything!!) The journey home was brilliant too because I have never travelled in an unfamiliar setting late at night on my own before and it gave me a sense of both fear and inspiration.

But yeah, thats now four members of Ultimate Rhoads I have met now, and ya remember me saying we're all like an extented family? well I still get that, because although most people would frown upon the idea of meeting someone you never met in person before only knew them online, I met Shaun and didn't doubt he is what he says he is and hey, we got on really well and had quite a few laughs.

So that wraps it up for tonight! I need to be on here more often!

Oh and my respects goes to WyldeOne's family!

Simon

Not the best place to be at night but it makes good writing for your next movie. I'm just glad you got home without being hastled from drunks and potential murderers. Your forgetting that you have posted plenty photos of yourself so i had a good idea who i was looking for. I bet you got some double takes from people passing with your Randy Rhoads Rules sign. I know i said i'd meet you under the Monument but i didn't expect you to be right under it LOL!!. You should of had a pink carnation and i should of met you under the train station clock LOL!. I hope you'll treasure those albums i know they've gone to a good fan. We'll have to do this again but with more drink involved. Hopefully Ozzy will be playing Newcastle this summer you'll have to make it a date. It's good to eventualy put a face to the name JUSTTAKEAPEBBLE twas a good time had by all.

Simon has some of Shauns Y-fronts now! these are black and white striped tune pants!

It was good speaking to you yesterday Shaun it was under sad circumstances that I finalyy made contact but an enjoyable chat none the less. I am always pleasently surprised at how much so many of us have in common on here.

Now I better read this thread fully, I just thought I better check what Shaun had to say because I didn't want him to mention the sexual advances he made towards me! I got scared and put the phone down, then I felt bad so I called back and Shaun was crying!!!!!!!!!! but he didn't mention it so thats fine. :D

I might have made the last bit up! but did I?

I bet Simons Y-fronts had streaks on them and nothing to do with tunes or piano keys. It must of been like a scene out of 'The Warriors' for him going through the Bronx like Byker after dark.. But i'm sure Simon was packing his 44 Magnum and ready for any confrontation. Ian and as far as sexual advances go i'm sure that you were jealous because i was meeting up with Simon. Thats you bombed out matey  Wheres Matt with his Sexual sausage double entronder when you need him Help !!!!

Joking aside it can be very intimidating for a stranger to be on the Metro/Underground at night. I'm just use to it and a 44 Magnum should be issued to all passengers traveling at night. It would be a messy job for the cleaners in the morning cleaning up all that blood and ice cream. It's a good job Simon had Charles Bronson as his side kick.
