Charity Karaoke Night

As a way of raising funds for one of our Fire Service colleagues who has Myeloma Cancer we've decided to organise a Charity Karaoke Night next Wednesday, 28th April.
Our workmate, Pete Oxley, was diagnosed with Myeloma Cancer almost 2 years ago, it affects the cells in the bone marrow, and he's had a pretty shit time since, in and out of hospital constantly and lots of chemotherapy treatment, so we thought we'd try to raise a bit of money for him and the charity and have a bloody good laugh at the same time, and hopefully put a smile back on his face.
Its gonna be a cross between Stars in their Eyes and Britains Got Talent/X Factor were the audience vote for their favourites.
We've got 15 Firefighters to all sing a song each, but they've also got to get dressed up as the artist their singing, we've got a Freddie Mercury, a Tom Jones, a David Bowie, (Ziggy Stardust era) a Madonna, a Bo Selecta, a Stevie Wonder, an Elton John, a Frank Sinatra, The Commitments and The Bee Gees, as well as a few more. My mates attempts to get me do to Lady Gaga failed miserably.
I'd love to do a 1981 era Ozzy but I've opted for Slade's Noddy Holder singing Cum on Feel the Noise, I love that song from when I was a kid and everyone knows it and it gives me a good excuse to dig out my old flares and put on a blond curly wig.
The audience then vote, £1 per vote, and the top 10 go through to the next round and they sing again, a different song, either the same artist or someone totally different, then the audience vote again for the winner.
If I get through to the second round I'm supposed to be doing Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You, dressed up as he is in the video as Gene Simmons, the full works, black cat-suit and make-up, I'm cringing just thinking about it.
It should be a great laugh and its all for a good cause, its in a working mens club near our Fire Station and we've sold over 250 tickets so far, so it should be a great atmosphere, but I'm bricking it already, God knows what I'll be like on the night.
I'll let you know how we get on, and hopefully post a few pics.
