My dad instilled in me a positive attitude when looking for work etc. He had the attitude that if you send 200 applications and get one positive reply; then it was worth it! My whole life I have kept this idea in my head.
Anyway I sent a load of publicity e mails earlier this year and have gotten gigs galore; including the most recent one... in June I am playing a recital at Oxford University!!!
I am really pleased and excited to get the chance to play here!!
Kelle Rhoads recently did a great talk about the music business and promotion etc. I think to add to that I would say buy say 100 envelopes, write 100 letters and choose 100 venues.
Send off your stuff and follow up with a call a couple of weeks later..I guaruntee you will get at least one reply!
