I love Gypsy Jazz and this looks just great! It is a documentary about gypsy jazz guitarist Jimmy Rosenberg!
See what you reckon, especially interested to hear what Simon and Rob think, being film makers.

Looks like an interesting film for potential investors, I mean thats the first time I've heard Gypsy Jazz and it got me curious to who this Jimmy is? and the gypsy jazz form, and what playing

He reminds me of a speed demoned Johnny Cash as well, especially with the humble beginings to a music contract to the binge of drugs story I saw in the short trailer.
Defiantly one I'll look out for if I see it.

Hi Simon
I thought of you with your RR documentary idea with this. It is clearly a quality film, with great subject matter while also on a limited budget too. Sound familar?!

wow, so your new to gypsy jazz? I think you would love it very much. It has lots if improvisation and fun in it's spirit; but also a mystique in it that almost has the vibrance of flamenco!

Well Simon, don't lose heart I am still interested in your film idea but I have some camera problems. I am not getting a better quality camera till Christmas and wouldn't be happy at the moment submitting something with the poor quality my existing one has.
Hi Simon, I have been meaning to ask a few things if that is okay?
what things do you want the people in it to cover? How many minutes shall they speak for? Will you go through the editing process with them, ie will you run it past them before including it? etc
Cheers

Hi Matt
I wont loose heart

well this documentary is a relaxed documentary, as long as people get the videos done, it will be made when everyone interested has taken part, so if you have camera problems, I'm happy to wait till you get a better quality camera.
The people can speak 3 to 4 minutes long, and I would like them to cover what Randy meant to them, how did he inspire them, did they look up to him, did they just stood in awe by Randy's playing or did they use ideas Randy have in their own playing, personal stories about meeting Randy or even seeing Randy.
Simon
P.S Check your PMs

The opening is a bit dramatic, but aside from that i thought it was great, clearly there is great subject matter there. Its actualy more of a docummentary in itself than a trailer, they packed a lot into that video, it was well edited to say the least.
Don't understand why they need investors though, based upon that they seem to have all the footage they need, and im sure they could get it into some festivals, they just need a friendly giant rather than a cash cow.

I think that this film demonstrates what Simon and his plan could come to if he keeps the faith! This demonstrated that a huge budget and big names are not needed to make a quality artistic film.
