So I had just finished approx 11hrs of work yesterday
and couldn't wait to get home and sleep and relax as I'm
free today.
Got in to the car, popped in the stereo, turned the key and ...
nothing happens. Seems like the battery ran out.
So what does a guy do when he's alone in a parking lot
with a non-functional car? He calls his mom that lives a
10min walk from there and crashes on her couch.
So, starting my day off kickstarting the car with help from
a former workbuddy and some cables so I atleast got to drive home
and now I have to get a new battery and preferrably a set off
start cables in case it should happen again.
I just wanted to play guitar today

I'm a co-manager at a fastfood restaurant.
It wasn't all hard work though.
the last 2hours was more of the administrative stuff
like counting the days profit and making sure there's
enough change in every register and so on ...
on the other hand, $131 shorter and a few turns with a wrench
I changed the battery and the car's up n' running again

i guess thats not
so bad
i always think its funny how people complain about working 9am to 5pm, lots of people work harder than that. When i was a kid my Dad used to work 9am to 9pm, 6 days a week

I work 8 hours a night, but I seem to get twice as much work crammed into those 8 as the day shift guys who work the 8 hours prior to my shift - the funny part is that there are 3 of them on shift and I work alone

I feel the car pain Stiltz
About two weeks ago after really thinking things out we decided to get Jessica a new car. We got her a car with a bigger boot area and space for the dogs, because finances are tough for everyone we waited to make sure the spending didn't effect us.
We bought a car about 2 years old that had belonged to the British/Northern Irish Government, it is metalic black and decided to keep the northern Irish number plate because it is legal here and its different to mainland British car registrations. Our mainland British plates are age related and the Irish ones are not and can be purchased privatly, Many Irish plates are used as private plates because they can look like a persons name but can cost big $. I am no lover of these status symbols and because the one on our new car doesn't look like a name AND it hides the cars age we kept it.
On day three of owning this car i said to Jessica shall I go to the bank to pay the cheques in? off I went parked up came out and some nice person dragged a key down the whole side of it
I blame this on these plates because they are really hated and this ar looks pricey.
I know its not like you not being able to start your car Stiltz but it almost makes me cry when I see that looooooooooonnnnggggg scratch.

Someone I used to know worked 7am to about 1am, 6-7 days a week. He ended up pissing blood as a result though.
Thats insane, did he enjoy his job?
you know,
before the pissing blood!
i know someone who worked 9am - 11pm seven days a week for three months, but he liked what he was doing. Not even he would do 7am-1am!
