I'm just wondering if there's many people in these groups that are like myself wanting accurate bass & drum tracks that accurately match everything Tommy Aldridge & Rudy Sarzo played on the Randy Rhoads Tribute CD?
I've been communicating with a guy that is capable of doing this. I think his normal fee for doing a entire CDs worth of songs is just under a thousand dollars.
But when I emailed him a couple links to a couple songs from the cd he said he don't know if it will be profitable for him to do because he doubts many people will be interested in this, and he says it will be extremely time consuming for him to do it as accurate as I'm speaking of.
I really want the backing tracks, because I hate it when people post videos on youtube of them playing along with a CD and you can hear the guitarist on the CD playing behind them, that just sounds like noise to me & amaturish.
Most of the backing tracks I've found of Ozzy sound a little cheesy, besides my favorite versions of the songs are from the live tribute CD, and I've never seen any backing tracks for those versions, only the studio versions.
I have one of those Tascam CD trainer things that supposed to have a feature to cancel out the guitar on a CD, but it sucks, it dosen't cancel the guitra out on the tribute cd, maybe it lowers the volume a little but it dosen't cancel it out.
Anyway I was just wondering if anyone besides me is interested in having a custom cd of drum & bass tracks made like the tribute cd?
Here's what the guy wrote me back:
"Hi Romeo,
I am sorry to have not called you back yet. As you guessed, I am pretty busy but didn't mean to overlook your questions.
After listening to the Ozzy tracks on YouTube from the links you provided, I have the feeling that to capture the drumming from his songs "note for note" (even with a book) would be pretty time consuming and expensive. I haven't yet checked on any of the licensing for these two songs for the purposes of re-sale, but because I don't get many requests for Ozzy I have a feeling that it might not be a great seller for me. Therefore, I may have to decline this job. But if you think there's a way to make this work, i.e. a) have me not replicate every complex fill from his drummer note for note, b) lock it all in to a click to keep it more steady rather than emulate the time fluctuations he has in these songs, then maybe we can work out something equitable for us both."

Hi Romeo
The Tribute album in it's entirety would be awesome and $1000 is actually very reasonable. I suppose the ideal would be if you could get 100 people on the boards to put up $10 each.
Are there samples of his work though, so we could hear his tracks?
In the meanwhile I have some top notch tracks of...
I Don't Know
Crazy Train
Mr Crowley
Flying High (Again)
Diary Of A Madman
Over The Mountain
Goodbye To Romance
Revelation (Mother Earth)
Believer
Apart from Believer and Diary I bought them all, Mike Lowery was kind enough to post me them to via e mail.
Feel free to pm if you want me to send them to you.
