Last night I watched one of the most exciting football games in recent years. The USA beat the worlds current number one team Spain!
The USA have had some very ropey games in the past but despite my love of Spain I found myself excited to see the underdog American team win two nil.
Spain hadn't been beaten for two years so it is a big deal!
Now USA play Brazil Sunday night in the final. I hope football (soccer in the US) gets more publicity from this

GO BRAZIL!!!!
I hope Brazil can pick up the pieces after their marginal performance today against South Africa.
But you know, even if Brazil loses tomorrow, I'd be ok with that. I'd like to see the US Soccer team finally get some pats on the back. I have always thought they were a scrappy, hard working team who just could never quite seal the deal.

Brazil are always a pleasure to watch, as they just have so much rhythm and inventive style play. Also they are a team that always seem so sporting and chilled out...and at the same time so damn good
Having said that (LOL) they have been the thorn in England side many an important match, a couple of World Cups back England were up and looking great yet they still dashed our hopes!
So I am rooting for the US tonight. I think they can do it too with enough belief!

Just about to come on the TV! Excited.

Kaka was in the news recently talking about how at the next World Cup, he thinks England is going to have a very good squad that will pose a threat to Brazil.

Great stuff from both teams!
Luis Fabiano, Lucio, Dani Alves, and Kaka all did spectacular! Kaka was robbed when he headed the ball in (yes, it was all the way in!). He had some great flicks and shots though!
The US has proven that they are a force to be reckoned with and that makes me happy too.

No longer the butt of futbol jokes! Spector, Donovan, and Dempsey all did wonderful. I'm a very proud American and Brazil fan. Did anyone get a change to watch?

Hi Nicole
I was seeing BB King live and yes it was amazing...but I really wished I could have watched the football game! Half time at the gig I was straight on the internet on my phone and was delighted to see the US 2-0 up!!
After the gig seeing Brazil and come back and taken charge made me laugh that kind of "there so bloody good and annoying those amazing Brazilians" kind of laugh!
Wow 3-2!!
Only Brazil and France seem to have that positivity that they can turn things around.
I am going to watch this today Nicole. You should be so proud this has shown people that the US are a force to be reckoned with and hopefully get the game more coverage!
The reviews I read about the USA's performance were what I remembered about the last game. Great sharp playing, fast paced and intelligent football. I liked the way when the players got tackled and went down they got straight up. No play acting to get points etc.
