we are watching one of our favourite films tonight called Sideways with Paul Giamatti and Thomas Haden Church! Very dark and dry :)

The wine flows and like one review says, not a lot happens yet there is so much about life in it!

This is our other favourite drinking film about life and drink called Withenal and I with Richard E Grant!

I have seen Withnail and I mainly cos it has my favourite Doctor in it :P xD

But yeah the bluntness of Richard E Grant really works well :)

I really liked Sideways! I got quite a few laughs from it. I'll have to check out the other one you mention.

My dad has just revealed to me the...

Withnail and I drinking game.

For everytime Withnail and Marwood have a drink, you must drink a drink too!

I can't help with the clicking of the fingers but a drinking movie is just that. a film that is based around the love or hate of booze.

leaving Las Vegas with Nicholas Cage and Elizabeth Shue is amazing, and has some great moments that make you want to drink and some other that make you see the depravity of it!

Withnail and I is pure chaotic drinking. It is very hedonistic and also a tragic comedy because the characters are really on the edge of going under or pushing through and making something of themselves!

The quotes in it have become cult classics!

So is 'Arthur' a drinking film then? Dudley Moore plays a drunk.

Maybe, I haven't seen it but it is a bit of a sore point because I had to play the theme tune with my friend who plays Clarinet and I will never, ever, ever do that kind of gig a again!! Pure tack LOL

Ian, your daughter watches eastenders right? Ask her what she thinks of Phil Mitchell's portrayal of a drunk. Usually in soaps it is really embarrassingly and unconvincingly done, not with this though!

Matt this is Jim Lahey my all time favorite TV drunk, he is from a budget Canadian show call 'Trailer park boys' which is a spoof fly on the wall Docu-soap about life on a trailer park! Jim is the park supervisor a real budget Hitler!
it's a very underground show but is really funny. I am sure if you saw a few shows you would be hooked.

And while Im on the subject of 'Trailer park boys', here is the star of the show Ricky who is a semi literate pety drug dealer who's charector is based on him mixing up words which adds a real edge to the show
