It's been a life of ups and downs since I last left you all.

So let me bring you all up to speed.

Ups

Got results from my first assignments from last term (first year) 60% on Genre and 63% Narrative.

I am due to go to a conference for scriptwriters next week at Darlington and will be away for 3 nights.

I helped set up for the stage and soundchecked (okay played an accoustic for an hour or two while they checked the levels) for David Ford's live DVD due out soon, which I then became a member of the audience for during the filming, I got his autograph twice, (pictures here) and got to have my picture taken with him. David Ford is known for songs such as "Cheer Up (You Miserable Fuck)" and "State of the nation" he liteary plays with himself on stage, he records his own backing track live, via a loop pedal, looping anything from piano, guitar, a box of nails, a rattle and his own voice.

I attended a seminar on the film Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas and met the screenplay writer Tony Grisoni, my tutor basically sold me to him saying I am a fantastic writer and director and that I am doing well than a certian year 3 individual, I gave Grisoni my autograph book and he kept it close to him and signed it, told me not to read it till i was out of the queue. I did so and he signed an uplifting signature. "To Simon, See you in 3 years! Tony Grisoni 2009"

Downs Which are kinda good in some parts

I've neglected guitar recently, to the point it's back to basics with me when I play guitar now. Hectic uni schedlue, enough said. Although listening to Jeff Beck's Cause We've Ended As Lovers (I know Stevie Wonder wrote it but neh) I can emulate the beautiful howl of the guitar at the start.

I've been going for blood tests for a problem they found, they have finally found out (after two tests) im clear. However, I still have to meet with a surgeon about a hole (and i quote the doctor "a hole that shouldn't be there") they have found. I shall let you all know how it goes.

I've felt down a lot recently, due to teammates at uni not cooperating as a team. Which has led me to feel left in the dark, but I'm pushing on as I usually do.

But of course, as my favourite Villian at the moment says....

Why so serious?

I am sorry for not being socialable, but I will try my best to do so.

Hi Simon

I know we spoke recently but it is great to hear an even more recent update and what fantastic pictures and encouragement from such a big figure! Well done.

Also 60 percent + is a 2:1 standard; so are academically doing great too!

Don't be a stranger and a lot of people have been asking after you!

Hi Matt

Yeah, mum got a 2:1 on her degree and dad got 2:2, so it's uplifting to my confidence to know I'm on the right track, just I don't exactly feel that I am but yeah.

I'll try not to be a stranger anymore.

Simon

P.S What did you make of my Goodbye piece by the way?

Hi Simon

I am glad you are OK, Life has been hectic for me as well so I was pleased to know that you were OK. Don't feel to bad about not stopping by for a while, I have also had trouble getting time to dedicate to the forum but I am always so happy to check in as soon as I get 5 mins free at the office.
My love to you and all the family :) your friend Ian
