Hello y'all.

I found out some rather upsetting new Friday, and it took me a little while to digest it.

After some 35 years, the place I work for will be closing up. I've been here for 18 years (19 come March 12), and I'll be here until the end. Katrina hurt them badly. The economy now did not help, either. It is so sad to see people that I've worked with for so long in the warehouse being let go. We felt like family.
I've thought about leaving this place a few times over the years, but I just couldn't do it. I hate change, and when I thought about leaving, I always knew in the back of my mind, that I could come back here if I hated where I went. Not anymore. We will still be here to answer the phones; we just won't be delivering. The customers will have to get it UPS & pay freight, unless it is over $500.00. One of the owners say it will take at least a few months, the other says a few weeks.
It's just so sad, being as tho Christmas is this week.

Thanks for letting me vent.

It is an automotive parts distributor. We sell auto parts to some auto parts stores in the New Orleans area, Mississippi, and Alabama.
We also sold to dealerships in those areas. I, along with 2 other girls, answer the phones and take customers orders.
The phone calls today have been nothing nice. I'm trying to keep it together while telling my customers, but it is just too damn hard.

Hey Gina keep your chin up my dear  You will go onto better things i'm sure. Its the trapped in the same routine situation and i understand how you feel upset. It must be hard to move on when you've been there so long. You just make sure you keep in touch with your friends and you never know, your new job might even give you a window with a view EH!

You're right about that, Shaun! A few of my customers have told me that if and when I need a recommendation, just to put their names and numbers down.
Another customer told me that he'll help me get a job; he has quite a few friends that can help me out.
Thanks for all of y'all's words. It lifted me up. :D

Hey Gina, I will be thinking of you. This time seem quiet tough on so many small companies. I might be able to offer you a few hours a week.
