I'm back from my trip, my cousin is distraught still but i think she appreiciated the gesture! :)

Even with a lot of my family around him, i finally told granddad ive learnt house of the rising sun, ive never seen him smile so much, his eyes gleamed and you could see his toothless grin gleam also :D

now he wants me to learn another song lol, bless him, but hey its good to see him smiling even if he is very weak. :(

It's upsetted me seeing him like he is, but hey i'm holding up a smile and carrying on, im saving some money i get in jobseekers pay to get a ticket to go down to see him for a weekend some time.

I asked simon because I wanted to say that I was sure he would be OK! I was at a callout for a man who was 76 last week and he still played soccer for a team on Sunday mornings.
My fathers mother was still working 12 hour days until she was 74 in textile mills (by choice), I think older people are much stronger than they were years ago. Lots of us here on UR are over 40 now and we still have many years left in us, I think 70 is the new 50 :D

what youi said was fine, I was unable to answer before today. I think you are lucky to have known your Grandfather, one of mine died in 1957 and the other when I was 4 so I never got to know him. all I remember was that hew had very swollen legs and they scared me so I stayed away from him, then he was gone :?

Yeah, I do see myself lucky, but I dont dwell on it, I mean, few people meet their great grandparents, i met my great grandmother she died when i was 7, well one thing i always remember, is that if you never get to meet them or anyone, theyre always there in spirit watching over you, whether its Randy Rhoads or your grandparents they watch over us and give us the little nucks to keep us going.

Have a hug Trigger *hugs*
