My 15-year-old daughter is hitting the age of rebellion. I asked her about what she wants for her birthday and she directed me to a site featuring the Dresden Dolls. I checked into them and found this, so I sent her a link to it via AIM and then I sent her a link to this.
I find it funny that her "rebellion" music is doing covers of my rebellion music. Now if I can just get her to listen to this really loud...

My parents were into The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Benny Goodman, et al... So when I got into KISS, Saxon, Judas Priest, Motorhead and Iron Maiden, well it really was rebellious

That clip of Motorhead with Girlschool reminded me of the tour I saw them on opening a show for Iron Maiden and the Scorpions...
I read an interview with Lemmy of Motorhead where he commented on Girlschool's guitarist Kelly Johnson:

Lemmy wrote:I got them on the tour in the first place and everybody else went like "ugh, girls" and I said 'fuck you, they're as good as you." Kelly Johnson, on a good day, is as good as Jeff Beck in his rock'n'roll days. She's a fucking brilliant guitar-player.
