Few things to say! Random bits! (feel free to comment)

Post by JustTakeAPebble »

Hey people!

Ya know whats bothered me recently? The fact that I come to say something, come to do or say something or whatever, and it's gone! my mind blank and as foggy as a polar bear in a snowstorm. So if i forget things, repeat myself or seem dim on here, that's why. oki?

Although I understand it now, especially with the diagnosis of Short Term Memory Loss, by the educational psychologist at my university. She has also diagnosed me with Dyslexia, added these things to Autism and Dyspraxia which I already had prior, it really does make me appriciate myself more, as I understand more about the person I see everyday in the mirror.

Which leads to me to say, I hope to at sometime do a documentry on Myself and Autism, and do a quest, although I am yet to discover the quest (as one of the conventions of a Documentry is a quest, see Borat, Where In The World Is Osama Bin Laden and Supersize Me), I have been told by friends I could do it on promoting the understanding of Autism, seeing as most people when it comes to Autism instantly think Rain Man, people like Matt and I proove that Autism is more than a hiccup, it can become a journey and even gives us something to be passionate about.

I havent got any set ideas on this documentry. Any suggestions will be happily taken in and written down.

I get this all the time Simon, I generally have to stop thinking about what I’m trying to remember and then it will come back to me, strange but it works most of the time.

I have always thought that a documentary that explores how the same experience effects people in different ways. It would have to cover each person’s background and their personalities and take the viewer on a in-depth journey on that persons decision making processes.
For a while now I have been interested in how and why people react the way they do.

Hi Simon

Well as we both know :) a typical trait of people on the AS spectrum is they have 'special interests'...
Sometimes they can be obsessions.

Suzie has boys in her class who are obsessed with Dinosaurs, Doctor Who, tube maps etc etc

I have tried to keep my focus on music my obsession/special interest and being introspective not an obsession. Personally I would find it an endless can of worms that I don't think would be healthy.

Donna Williams is a teacher, author, musician and best selling author of Nobody Nowhere, bless her she will always get back to you and writes candidly about her trials and dffciculties of making sense of things, before her diagnosis of autism.

I used to write to her for a while, interested in her views and success with such adversity. I decided eventually the opposite of what you are seeking my friend Simon and said goodbye to Donna.

Where does the autism end and the personality begin?

Suzie and I see a friend of the family for lunch and stuff who is a lovely amn but who suffers from Schizophernia. Often he says he thinks that a stomach ache or a bad mad is to do with his condition or his medication.

Sometimes he must realise that even schizophrenics can have low days and stomach aches and they are a part of just life.

Having said this Simon you know I havefaith in you and if any one could do a good ob on this it is you!

Hi Matt

Thank you for your confidence in me :) truely appriciated.

I've had a fair few "specialist subjects" in my time.. heres to name them.

E.T Extra Terrestral (Watched that film 10 times every day according to mum)

Thunderbirds and all things Gerry Anderson, I collected toys, books, you name it i probably have it!

Vehicles, I used to collect small cars, aeroplanes, all kinds.

erm.. *tries to remember what else*

Doctor Who (I own a sonic and laser screwdriver, two tardises, and dvds. I can give detailed facts about the Doctor)

Randy Rhoads, lol

Guitar.

Art, which i've neglected at the moment... must get back in the habit of painting.

One obsession thats lived with my all my life, is film. I have ALWAYS since an early age (My earliest memory was making a cinecam out of a cardboard box, toilet roll for the lense and fax strips for film) I loved to make moving pictures. whether it be animations, short movies or whatever lol!

And you're right, when does Autism end and personality kick in?

Simon, you have so many projects on which is of course great but maybe you should stay focussed on just a couple.
Trust Matt :)

I don't mean to sounds all negative or killjoy. Far from it! I am very similar with loads of crazy ideas and can recommend doing just a couple at a time really well rather than going through loads.

(In fatherly Clark Griswald voice)

Great talk son

Yeah, thats my problem, I can't sit still lol, I mean even on a train I tap my feet to the beat of the train, i even shut my eyes and imagine riffs in time to it! At uni, is no different, I push myself to work as hard as i possibly can and even stretching my mind to the full! lol, ya see my mind never sleeps, which is probably the cause of my sleepless nights aswell, i actually workout everything thats happend in the day, that at the time i didn't understand, when im about to go bed, sleep is no rest time, lol.

Right now, its 12pm, whats on my mind? not sleep, more must do this, must do that... Hell if i could save the world! I'd probably do that just to get a decent night sleep! lol!

I never stop.. as you can tell lol

And matt? Thanks, you aint being a killjoy, more a voice of reason, thank you and everyone here, for being the greatest friends i could ever ask for.
