Anniversary 2012?

Post by alborg »

Does anyone here know if there is anything planned for the 30th Anniversary of Randy's passing next March?
A special gathering or a statue somewhere or a book or something?... Was Kelly Garni's book supposed to be out by then? Sorry but I haven't been keeping up on things... I think that if there was something planned it would be well on it's way now?

I doubt there will be a statue...

The Mountain View cemetery gathering will take place as usual, but I've not heard of anything else being planned.

I will have my tribute guitar to debut for the 30th anniversary. Probably won't show it till then. Can't wait!

I always remember to notice March 19th every year. An ex-girlfriend's step-dad died (during our relationship) on March 19, 2001 and I almost sent her this "My hero died today" email. To this day she has no idea how I'm forever linked to this tragic day in history, bla-blah-bla...
And, it was a mystery how he died. It was a milk truck, over-turned with no other vehicles. It was a milk truck with a sliding door. He wasn't wearing a seat-belt and for what ever reason he braked (I'm assuming for an animal) that his vehicle overturned and he was thrown out and died. I still feel guilty for feeling bad about Randy and how that is an unlucky day. Life is precious...

As I've mentioned many times here, I remember Andy Wood on the 19th as well. He died in1990.

HUGE fan of Andrew Wood and Mother Love Bone

Randy died on March 19th, 1982
Andrew died on March 19th, 1990
Paul Kassoff (guitarist for Free) died on March 19th, 1976

Kind of weird...March 19th seems to be a dangerous day for rock stars.

March in general I always thought was weird for celebs, like Selena and Brandon Lee both on March 31, etc..

I don't want to turn this into a who died when thread, but Leo Fender died 21st March 1991, the exact same day I was born....
No I'm not the reincarnation, I just always found that to be kind of weird.
