Blizzard and Madman CDs

Post by Ace5150 »

What clues are there to obtain the original recordings on CD? Is any lettering or artwork different to the re-issues?
I know the re-issues have Kerslake and Daisleys parts re-recorded which is bang out of order.
I have the original vinyls and am tempted to just copy them onto my PC through the USB, BUT if I can get the originals, I'll happily purchase them.

Wait a couple of months until the next "Restored" re-issues. Thy sound like they could be something special.

The 1995 reissues sound fine sonically and have the original performances. I come across them constantly for $10 or less in used bins at the local record stores here. The best way to pick them out of the crowd is by the cover art.
Album cover is about an inch and a half square, with 'OZZY' spelled out vertically along the right-hand border in gold and a swirled blue background for Blizzard, swirled green for Diary. His entire solo catalog was remastered at the same time in this motif and released in August, 1995. He would release Ozzmosis in October.
I never owned the original CD issues of these albums, as I was one of the last cassette holdouts from the 80's. When I finally caved, the 95s were what was available.
Hope that helps.
T.
Whenever I put on Blizzard or Diary, what a wonderful, delicate furious beast.... I MISS you, man!

For now, I would recommend just downloading the vinyl rip of DOAM and BOO off the internet... Just to save your money for now, then when the box set comes out, buy that. (That's what I'm doing)

PBThal rips vinyl very well. He has done DOAM (And supposedly BOO, but it's not on his site..) and they sound amazing!

For BOO, you will have to search google for it, I have found it, but I don't remember where I got it.

Actually he has BOO, you just have to follow the instructions he gives with his "Site tips"
Sounds great too.

You didn't get thid from me....

Go to Google blogs - type in
Ozzy Osbourne - Diary Of A Madman - megaupload (or) rapidshare (or) hotfile (or) depositfile
Same for Blizzard Of Ozz (just replace it where "Diary" is)

Alot of Spanish blogs have the originals.

Is that the rip from vinyl or simply the originals before 1995? I am always wondering what the vinyl sounds like since I don't have them anymore. All I remember from them was how the song DOAM skipped on the first verse over and over again. Drove me nuts!!
