The photo below is from the Blizzard recording session Ridge farm studios. You can see the same guitar a bit more clearer.

Say that to Jimi Page  The point of the 12 String is that he used will making Diary Of A Madman's BEAUTIFUL track called You Can't Kill Rock N Roll. If I am not correct please slap me in the face. It may have been used on another track (TRACKS) but I am sure it was a rental. Randy didn't own a 12 string Fire Bird. It was either the studios or again a rental.

There IS more to guitar playing than shredding. That's why Randy is held in the high esteem that he is.

Great point Paul. Janet Robin said she hate seeing Randy in best Shredder categories in magazines etc.

I have noticed when playing so called 'shredders' playing that it doesn't stand up musically minus the tempo. In my view that is a severe weekness.

Many of Randy's runs from fills and solos sound just as beautiful played slowly or actual speed 8) 8)

For the record, I don't think Jimmy Page shredded on the 12 string neck. I think those were chords he was playing at the end of Stairway.
Randy's one of the few "shredders"t that I like. I feel that most shredding is directionless and boring. Randy, for the most part, had very thoughtful, engaging solos for the songs.

This is another shot taking from the Blizzard recording session at Ridge farm. Pity about the copyright watermark but a cool pic.

Great pic really!
Looks like there is some kind of panel placed in front of Randy's stack. He maybe faced his stack backwards too.
Can't imagine this pic has been taken almost 30 years ago....
