Hello all.. I was just wondering if Randy smoked alot.. The picture where he tunes his polka dot with a cigarette in his mouth appeared to me this week..
Did he smoke under influence of Ozzy, or already before that?

From what I read he chain smoked one cig after another and he was smoking before he hooked up with Ozzy. Hell, back then just about everyone smoked

Yeah, Randy smoked WAY before he joined Ozzy.

Smoking habits have changed over the years. Hardly anyone smokes in Britain now and on visits to Belgium and Holland it was amazing to see how most people smoked there, I have been looked at like I am weird when people there have offered me a smoke and I tell them I have never touched one 'EVER'. On my last visit to Antwerep in December the one thing I noticed however, was that even in Belgium they seem to have started shunning smoking.

Trigger, even the USA has many States with anti-smoking laws now. Back in the old days it was fashionable and "cool" to light one up. Most guitarists (especially jazz players) were always seen with a cigarette in album cover photos.

Watch This...
When Randy and Frank were young, cigarettes weren't considered to be so bad.

For the record, Fred....er, Frank... when I posted that video, I
meant that when you and Randy were at the young, impressionable age where you might take up smoking, cigarettes were seen in a different light - and even advertised using cartoon characters.
In
my lifetime, I don't think I ever saw a cigarette ad on television. I remember them in magazines, but not on TV.
Had the general consensus towards smoking (not to mention the medical evidence) been what it is today, chances are that neither you or Randy would've smoked.
That being said, you
are older than me, so there

The only time I see smoking on TV is in old movies/TV shows.
