If there is such a place, I hope Randy was there to welcome Ed. RIP EVH. :-(

Eddie was the reason I started playing guitar. Tremendous contributor to the world of music.

As others have said, I hope Eddie and Randy are just absolutely tearing it up right now. What a jam that would be.

This is a big loss to the music industry. :( I can't believe I just heard about this at about 1 am this morning. I think I was in Kroger's at the time they announced it. Sometimes my life is like the Twilight zone.

Man, could he play! He was a true innovator whom I greatly respected. The tone he perfected, and pure joy that came through his playing stood out to me. I actually grew to like him more when his solos got a bit more structured and melodic...Fair Warning remains my favorite. But I still LOVE Randy Rhoads!

Rest in peace Edward
It's almost ironic, that I have gotten into Van Halen's music again.
Like 2-3 last years, got all the LPs again, few books + bunch of live-stuff... It's a loss.

He moved the bar higher and not many guitarists could top his style, tone, showman ship. He stayed up there for decades and even during the non active periods of VH the fans carried on listening to his music. I'm sure his music and memorable performances on stage will be lasting memories for many.
RIP Ed and condolences to his brother, son, wife and fans world wide.

Without Ed, no one here but Frank would've heard of Randy Rhoads. Ozzy went looking for an EVH caliber player after Van Halen destroyed Sabbath.

Without VH's success the 80s would've been SO different in my opinion.
