The time has come...

Post by whoopiecat »

To sell off my Rhoads collection. I'll be 45 come November, And holding onto this stuff no longer seems important, so maybe someone who is looking to bulk up what they have could do well here.
On the downside, this will all go as one lot, as I have no intention whatsoever in auctioning it off by piece.
I have no autographs, no bootlegs, the photos are ones that were commonly seen on tk.
The rare stuff would be the November '82 issue of Guitar Player, (the first, and in my opinion, the best tribute any mag did on the guy), the JApanese Tribute book. I was stationed there from 87-90, and the badges and patches...all the badges were on my denim thru high school. I subscribe to Classic Rock, so that issue does not have the outer cardboard sleeve.

This lot will contain ALL of the following:

2 patches 1 is rectangle red/white font, the other in the shape of pinstripe axe

14 pins/badges

62 3x5 concert shots bought from rock shops in the 80’s

6 8x10 photos

10 guitar plectrumss w/ randy pictures on them

Ozzy Osbourne by Garry Sharpe- Young

Diary of a Madman by Mick Wall

Ozzy Osbourne Garry Johnson

Ozzy HM Photo Book

The Japanese Tribute book put out by BURNN! (Text in Kanji)

Bible of Ozz, small promo book, within was ozzy belt buckle, Zakk patch and CD NRFTW. (Text in Kanji)
Looked like hardcover, half was foam for patch, buckle and CD, other half text. Only text part remains.

Diary US tour book (Cover is live shot of Ozzy in chainmail with arm raised)

Kerrang! #13 4/02 with poster/obit

Guitar Player 11/82 Randy Rhoads Remembered

Guitar for the Practicing Musician 6/85

GFTPM 4/86

Hit Parader 6/87 3 copies

Guitar World 6/87 3 copies 1 cover scuffed

GFTPM 8/87

GFTPM 8/90

GW 8/04

GW Guitar Legends ’05 3 copies

GW 3/06 2 copies 1 sealed, both have bonus disc

GW Guitar Legends 2010? 3 copies

GW 7/11

Premier Guitar 7/11

Classic Rock 3/12 (UK)

Roughly 100 pg scrapbook I collected between 82-85, contains pages from Ozzy HM photo book, as well as pics/articles from above 80’s mags, and more.

Last but not least, the boxed set from last year complete (2x LP, 3x CD, 1x DVD, 1 book, cross & box.)

I have yet to sell anything on ebay, so I need to get that set up, I also need to find out what shipping would cost, as this is gonna be on the heavy side...the magazines alone came to 17 lbs.
I just wanted to give folks here the heads-up first.
The box alone was $120 USD, so this will probably fall somewhere around $220-250 USD
I'll post here when this auction is about to happen.

Last three pics are samples of the aforementioned scrapbook. This was a photo album I used, the adhesive on the pages is no joke. The thinner pages, (from magazines) may be mounted permanently, while those from the Ozzy HM Photo book, can probably be removed, as the stock is heavier. The yellowing you see is the adhesive after three decades. Everything is in great condition...the tourbook is a bit worn, but that was in transit to and from high school in my senior year, as I used a pic of Randy as a reference for an art project.

Whoopie a word of advice.!!! Do not sell this great lot of RR memorabilia as a job lot. You'll kick yourself when you see the prices of single items on ebay. The books are very collectible and are well worth selling as individual single items. The same with the magazines i see you have a few multiple items. They are worth re-selling after you sell one you'll see if these are sort after. I've been very surprised after buying and selling Ozzy & RR memorabilia for the last 10 years. Some guys are just starting to get into collecting and are prepared to pay good prices for alot of the items you have. You'll never realise the potential of your collection if you sell it as a job lot. Good luck  i'd bid on some of your items but i've got the lot.
