BowTie29 wrote:I dont want to start anything and I understand that you want a replica, but like threads have said before, its more about the playing and music than it is the gear. So I would say try to get a close dark blue/black colour but don't spend too much time on it and put that time into practicing. Im all for DIY guitars but too me at least the playing and practicing is what is more important than stressing about exact details on gear.
It's about the challenge to me of staying detail oriented. Just like Randy's playing is precise and accurate. I spend plenty of time practicing, it's just that playing guitar isnt my only hobby. Besides, work is slow enough part of each day to allow me to stress on the little things.

@Syntharia, thank you I will look into that effect. I am very excited about this project, it has been out of reach for me for a long time.

sytharnia wrote:what I would do for the blue is spray the headstock and strips black first then tint some clear lacquer with blue and spray it over the head and strips....you should get pretty close to the effect

I would try that on some scrap wood or something

Actually it's not blue it's. Color: White w/Black Pinstripes with Black Purple Pearl Cap

But if that does not work go to home Depo or somewhere and ask them I am sure they can help

I told her not to post pics of the headstock when they put the guitar on the website

But if you post pics of the headstock photoshop the Gibson logo and diamond out

She said thy she will get back to me on that

Others wise the guitar looks good

Thanks. The parts aren't cheap. I got tuners that are close but not exact. The actual ones might as well not exist. Very hard to find

Are they these the ones you got because by comparison these are really close to the crown heads and these are made by gotoh

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessor ... ers-6-pack

These look pretty close
I am going to email gotoh about seeing if they can make a couple sets of their famous gotoh crow head tuners

Do your pick ups have gold magnets? I spent close to 1k on my concorde tribute in just OG brass hardware... Took me almost 6 months to get the gotoh crown heads.. cost me 200.. 200 in picks with gold magnets.. 150 on bridge.. 120 on brass knobs.. 30 brass toggle.. 150 on handmade brass pick up rings.. 25 on brass input jack....

I'm an automotive painter by trade.. I figured out the blue for the headstock and stripes..... I will give u a hint its not one shot striping enamel.. but the logo is a different story.. a buddy of mine who is a striper/sign painter did the logo "concorde" in the style of the Jackson lettering... Minus the artwork I did and the flush mount covers on back(used for the artwork) mine is probably 98% replica..

I have the blue and will sell 4oz for 100 bucks. After reduction good for atleast 2 guitars.
