I've bitched at various forums about it.
I've bitched about pickups and finishes and what not.
But finally, this little baby has evolved from nothing more than a thought :)

Operation springcavity:

had to work it with a chisel to get more space for the springs. will have a coverplate shortly :D

So, feel honored, this is the first time I've posted pictures of the final product.
No one has seen it yet, except some friends who visited a few days ago.

I'm still struggling with adjusting the stringheight and the neck,
but it's close now. Very close :D

That's really really nice. I think I now understand what you meant by a floating Floyd rose! Could you maybe take a picture of behind the bridge so I can see if it's what I think I see? If it is what I think I see then it's really clever.

does it help if I say that the Floyd baseplate isn't lowered flush with the rest of the body ? :)

I can pull back as well too :D

So you adjusted the spring claw to allow you to pull up without having to rout a cavity under the trem?

i chiseled the springcavity instead :)
then I lowered the action and learnt how to handle the trussrod :D

So let's say 3-4 months ... and a few dollars ;)

Well that's so awesome infact I think I might copy you by making a guitar :D . If I do ever fullfill the dream then i'll post stuff.

What was the whole area of wiring it up like? Would it have been much harder to put an on/off switch on? Just saying this because I'd want to use the bridge for distorted, turn down the volume of the neck pickup for cleaner sounds and then just have an on/off switch to have fun with.

i guess that could be done :)

Brian May has on/off switches for every pickup on his guitar :D

No, I mean just a master on/off switch :D . That would be pretty cool though. I would like a little button or 2 way switch kind of thing that I could press or move to cut up the sound. Just like Randy's Crazy Train intro solo but while being able to use the neck pickup. If I had one for each pickup I would probably get confused  .
