Re: Current poor sound quality of Blizzard/Diary CD's/Hi res
I agree, I've been saying that for years. I'm a guitarist on several guitar oriented forums and all these younger fellas slag Randy's tone. I always have Randy's back and ask if they've heard BOO & DOAM on vinyl because a lot of nuance is lost in the conversion to digital. It's a shame that you...

Re: Current poor sound quality of Blizzard/Diary CD's/Hi res
The 2 studio albums I have only on cd, these are bought in the late 80's. Don't know how they compare to the nowaday versions on cd. I wonder if it's the same for Tribute? I felt my Tribute cd from '87 sounded a little more rich than the 2002 version. Always felt that cd's has less dynamics than vi...

Re: Current poor sound quality of Blizzard/Diary CD's/Hi res
I don't know how people can listen to Vinyl. I've never heard a vinyl record that didn't make extra noise such as Hiss, Crackling, and Popping... The highest resolution in the world would be pointless to me if it meant I had to suffer through something that sounds like a bowl of Rice Crispies cerea...

Re: Current poor sound quality of Blizzard/Diary CD's/Hi res
In the 30th anniversary box set, we also had re-released vinyl albums of BOO & Diary - that I have had recorded directly to CD. Has any one done a side by side sound test with a good quality 1980 copy of BOO to the box set version? Is the box set vinyl version squished sounding as well, or just...

Current poor sound quality of Blizzard/Diary CD's/Hi res
OK, so I started to go off about this in another thread and I am curious to see if anybody else has an opinion or cares about this. If interest in RR is at an all time low as mentioned, that is so sad. Blizzard and Diary are such amazing albums. The younger generation is really missing out if they d...

Re: RANDYRHOADS.COM
Such a waste of a domain. If interest is at an all time low as mentioned, that is so sad. Blizzard and Diary are such amazing albums. The younger generation is really missing out if they don't know about those albums. However, what doesn't help is that Sony/Legacy did a crappy job of remastering the...

Re: Don Airey responded to my inquiry!
Was the '82 Diary Tour "band jam" ever intended to possibly become a full song and how did that piece come about? I always wondered that too. That's an amazing piece of work. I love to play it on piano. It took a long time to figure it out note for note. Such a shame it was never professi...

Re: Ozzy and Jacks World Detour Southampton/Crazy Train Mas
Amazing stuff. I love the pick scrape into the Crazy Train solo. I heard that on the isolated tracks and 2002 version. Someone here once said they hear it on the original album version, but I swear I don't hear it even the faintest bit except on the 2002 version. Does anyone hear it on the original?...

Re: Southampton Question?
What are you talking about guys?? Goodbye to romance on tribute is not form Southampton.. Man its eaSy to recognise tommy aldrige playing on it... no bone movie too Incorrect, NBM and GTR may not be from the Southampton show, but they are definitely from 1980 with Lee and Bob. On the 1981 USA Blizz...

Re: Southampton Question?
The Cleveland 5/11/81 show was broadcasted by NBC The Source. 2 other pieces of Southampton made it onto the Ozzy Live disc: -The full Mr Crowley extended keyboard intro (hence the fade-in on the EP). -Randy's solo (cut and paste job like Tribute). With all of those pieces out there, I doubt the who...
Re: Ozzy live
Here are my thoughts at least regarding the Montreal theories. FHA is definitely the only song from Montreal on Ozzy Live as far as guitar tracks go. As mentioned, there are some vocal intros that were taken from Montreal and even at least one shout to the crowd during a song (Believer) from Montre...
