Re: Shepperton studios 1980 NEW pic
Love any new old pic's - but geez, it's been almost 40 years...just leave Bob in the picture. Holding onto grudges and anger just hurts the person that harbors them.

Re: 38 Years 3/19 Randy Rhoads - What song introduced you to
It was the summer of '81 and I heard "I Don't Know" while riding the Roundabout at our local town's Independence Day carnival / celebration. It changed my life to this day. One of my favorite days / memories. Just the same, "Diary of a Madman" is one of my favorite songs to liste...

Re: The Guitar Voice of Randy Rhoads...
THANK YOU! What a glorious gift when all has been quiet for such a long time!! I love reading about the technical aspects of Randy's playing and I AM REALLY GOING TO ENJOY reading this. My kids are taking classical piano lessons and learning theory, and this read will legitimize the knowledge and co...

Re: Blizzard of Ozz/ Diary of a Madman 40th anniversary
You know, the years go by now and I don't even notice. And you know what I get the most enjoyment out of? Listening to the albums over and over, hearing something in a little different way for the first time, and just enjoying them. I'll throw on the formally released live stuff (Tribute, Ozzy Live)...

Re: If Randy Were Touring Today...
Apologies - was not thinking of things in "that" way. I was focused on the "RR" on the plane itself...when do you ever see that un-photoshopped? It is an actual test plane that Rolls Royce partnered on with other defense contractors. Let's stay positive out there and not dwell on...

Re: Another claiming to have FOOTAGE threads..
I'm sure there are bits and pieces out there that those who possess them 1) have no idea that they have them (stored away in old boxes, etc.) and 2) have no care to view it and / or don't understand what they have. What bothered me a bit about the thread at ultimate metal was that they guy was SMOTH...

Re: Do you think more Randy Rhoads footage exists?
I want to say that I read the book, "Gods, Gangsters, and Honor" by a high profile entertainment lawyer, who handled Don and Sharon Arden's (Osbourne's) affairs - and he mentioned going through Don's archives and finding rare footage of Ozzy's band that he sold for $100,000 to raise some c...

Re: Frankie Banali interview, Over the Mountain intro
Great compilation of information above. My assessment? Bonham was such a HUGE influence of most modern day drummers, that everyone was doing a variation of those triplets - and I'm sure Frankie played something similar with Randy at the L.A. Sessions, while Lee also came up with his own version at t...

Re: Rhoads Musonia Kickstarter
Things definitely seem more than a little fishy with this Kickstarter. I would humbly advise Kelle and Kathy - who both seem like nice folk in their hearts, "Build it and they will come". Continue to offer lessons from top teachers - even bringing in "celebrity" musicians to teac...

Re: Dude is working on upscaling and improving Randy footage
It's too bad...the Passaic, NJ, show is known to exist - multi-camera black and white, and we'll never see it because people STILL expect to get six figures for rare Randy Rhoads footage. I just flipped through a "100 Great Guitarist" interviews magazine this morning at Barnes & Noble ...

Re: The Grail is Dead...
I also see both sides, but if done the right way getting these demos out there with some narrative and stories would make Bob and Lee's contributions to both albums indisputable. Too bad it couldn't have been included with the book...the stories are all there - put on the CD while reading this chapt...

5.1.81 Boston / 5.4.81 Springfield / 8.9.81 Cape Cod Shows?
My biggest regret that I couldn't have done anything about is that I was only 13 years old and still in 7th grade when Randy toured with Ozzy in Massachusetts. Can anyone point me to any confirmed photos, concert reviews, and even share memories (if you were there) from any of the Massachusetts conc...

Re: The Grail is Dead...
You know, I wonder what might work to pry some of these known rarities from those that have possession of them. Everyone here is right - the money is the bottom line for these things getting out there. I wonder how much attention or money a kickstarted or go fund me campaign would raise, especially ...
Re: New Pic?
I've seen this picture before - perhaps even in Bob's book. But I NEVER looked beyond Randy to see what else was in the picture. I kind of always thought it was taken at Ridge Farm, but never noticed the Timpani Drum to his left (our right). I may be wrong, but off of the top of my head I can only t...
