Blue Days

Loved every minute of writing this and hope you like it too. Not as experimental as my last, but bloody good fun to write and play (even my harmonica playing...haha) It's a journey from the start of the 20th century blues hounds, through 20's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 00's. The Russian is the Chernobyl new...

Re: Whats the latest with RJD

REST IN PEACE RONNIE............ First EP I ever owned was Sabbath with RJD (can't remember which one) at the start of the 80's. Had the DIO albums and he was a force majeur through my growing years. The guy was integral in helping set a standard for vocalists in the rock genre and that should never...

Re: We now have a new banner !

It would certainly be nice to fit the Concorde on there, but it would be at the cost of artistic balance (i.e. always using an odd multiple), plus the reduction of the pictures scale/text or removal of the RR insignia I suppose. The only other options would be to "grey" it out and use it a...

Re: We now have a new banner !

Got to leave the Les Paul on there as it was an integral part in both his time with QR and Ozzy.....!!!

Hey Ritchie,

Is that Vee a Schenker legit, or just sprayed up to look like his and what was the creme pup in the white one (DiMarzio)?

Re: Motorhead 1984- Funny chat off Kerrang Flexi Disc

Ritchie, you have just officially made me sick..... Those "V"s are sweet. My first "real" guitar was a German made flying Vee that I wanted because Michael and Rudolph Schenker were my guitar heroes (plus both Accept guitarists)..... I've only got 16 to date, but most of t...

Motorhead 1984- Funny chat off Kerrang Flexi Disc

Title says it. Gone are the days where bands just waffled rubbish and it was put out as a free flexi disc. Attached to Kerrang in 1984 and sat in my vinyl (what's that....?) collection for twenty six years. Worth listening just to have a chuckle...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TkEC27MYY-o :mrgr...

Re: Flexi Disc- Kerrang 1983

Well Joe, you asked for it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tBQn2XLb1m4 I love Kevin's constant yakking and Rudy's "well I've been to England before etc..." rambling, like a show off to the other members.....This is really funny.....1980's era.......Wish it was like that now.....Ah well.......

Flexi Disc- Kerrang 1983

Hi, Anyone interested, if I can find it/record it, of a free audio (MP3) copy of the Kerrang flexi disc from 1983. It was stuck to the magazine's front cover and held Slick Black Cadillac live, plus Kevin etc. talking (babbling) for a bit :fish: 8) I'll see if I can download it onto the PC and get i...

Re: Night Flight .

Hi Matt, Roy's stuff sounds cool. I think we all get stuck in a rut and need to explore other avenues and the way the guitar can be used as an expression of feeling, rather than just shred the hell out of it. I'm a massive fan of the blues and, early on, that taught me to stop and let the silences &...

Re: Night Flight .

Thanks very much Matt, that is praise indeed....... :D I'm trying to create soundscapes with my music, rather than simply play something for the sake of it. In terms of production and sound development, Mike Olfield and Jeff Wayne influenced me a great deal with their seminal works and continual exp...

Re: Night Flight .

Hey Joe, You always need layers..... There are five on there in total: 1. Harmonic sounding backing. 2. Smooth sounding simple solo pieces over the above. 3. Rock "picked" track (in the middle section). 4. Rock rhythm (basic distorted chords). 5. Lead over the rock (some interesting ...

Night Flight .

Well here is one that was written as a test for my "new" (used) Jackson Rhoads. I think it came out pretty cool:

Just out of interest, does anyone know whether the shitty, clear flexi single that appeared on the front of Kerrang in 83(?), with Quiet Riot's Slick Black Cadillac (live) on it (plus a crappy intro. type thing stating Carlos Cavazo was guitarist), was audio of the line-up that included Randy or Car...
