Re: RR effects and amplifiers on display

I met Randy at a party in Burbank. 1978. I took lessons from March '78 until November '79 when he left for England to work with Ozzy. Yes, it was an incredible experience as we became friends as well.

Re: RR effects and amplifiers on display

Randy kept the Fender Harvard at the house. That's the one he used during my lessons. It's also the one he took to audition for Ozzy.

Re: Dumb question.

Yeah...I tried looking up posts made on/before that date. I came up empty handed, but thanks for the effort. :D

Dumb question.

Okay, here it is. Does anyone know or remember why there was a rush of visitors on Sunday, March 10, 2013?

304 hits means there was some kind of event. Every time I go to the board I see this and wonder about it.

Re: Dude is working on upscaling and improving Randy footage

What's worse is Frank continues to sit on his stash of RR lesson tapes. I thought when Delores died we'd see new footage because of all the "changing of the guard" rumors, but we still can't even get Franks tapes. I will be so happy when Sharon and Ozzy and Frank are all dead, THEN, maybe...
The Rhoads family has never been hurting for money even when RR was a little kid.... Delores and the family had some kind of ties to Oil. KG told me about it years ago.
Re: Did Randy Ever Get The Funk Out?

randy played funk, disco and jazz while teaching me bass guitar and guitar. he was a musical chameleon and incredible in any and all genres. I never thought of randy as a metal guitarist...he was a musician in the purest sense of the word.

Re: Fender stratocaster

Positive Randy didn't own any strat's. He so much as told me he didn't like the sound, although he did compliment mine. He was classy that way.

Re: New hope for the 'Legacy'?

i spoke to kathy not too long ago about what she felt was her obligation to randys fans. she actually anguished about doing something fitting for his legacy. i told her "screw the fans. anything you send their way might shut them up for 10 minutes, and then they're back to whining. you can nev...

Re: New hope for the 'Legacy'?

Randy was all about playing and teaching guitar and the least used section of this site is the section for players. When people start showing an interest in how he made his music from a compositional standpoint, new information will present itself and a new appreciation for who Randy was will be fo...

Re: What do you think, would Randy be happy about these book

HEY FRANK WOULD YOU KNOW HOW RANDY FELT ABOUT HIS CULT JUST ASKING? i don't understand the question. could you rephrase it? how wold you think randy felt about his fans sounds like two separate questions. i can only speculate of course. randy was very accommodating to his fans, as is his family to ...
