Reading about Don Arden makes Sharon seem like a saint!
Anyway, it's hard losing a father. My thoughts are with the rest of the family.

Tapping was around way before VH. I've seen a classical guitarist do it...that was in a video from the early 70s I believe. It's not a totally new idea. Randy and EVH might have used similar techniques, but their writing style is so completely different. Two different animals in the same zoo, as the...

How strange indeed! I don't know...it seems to me, at least where I live, while EVH is known, you just...don't hear him! Not on the radio, not anywhere! And generally speaking, nearly all the kids I know that are into music know Randy. :) And not just because of me either. I think within...

Rolling Stones opinion doesn't really bother/matter to most in the hard rock or heavy metal community. As far as Randy being a junior league EVH, well...I don't know about that, I suppose the man writing the article can have his own opinion. But I will say that I've never ever heard any kid playing ...

I've got one as well, but shoot. I'm no expert, but I do think a thumbnail like that is not necessary!

I reckon Ozzy would just have to fall on Randy to win a fight, LOL. I never thought Ozzy was much of a fighter really. There's a new Max Norman interview out that said Ozzy wasn't a fighter or violent, except when it came to Sharon. And the Sharon/Randy thing...well, I've always seen Sharon ...

Looks like Black Rain is selling a lot more slowly than Down To Earth. Down To Earth was Gold a month after release. It's two months past the release date for this album and only a little more than 300,000 sold. Hopefullly it won't take 2 years to go platinum like DTE though.

As far as the Randy/Sharon thing, I really don't know what to think. Everyone had such radically different dates for it. All the times Sharon speaks about it on Howard Stern, she gives a different time frame for it. Then Rudy quotes Randy as giving a completely different time frame than Sharon ever ...

I think I've seen that picture. But I doubt that it was actually from Ozzy's stag night. I think in Rudy's book, he said Ozzy never really had a bachelor party.

I think he may have had possibly more fun on stage with QR. But I think being in Ozzy's band was much more musically satisfying. That's what I've gathered from what he's sad in interviews.

That is so cool. Thanks for the story, Frank. :)

Did Randy play...

Piano? I seem to remember hearing/reading that somewhere, or I could have easily made it up in my mind. I always thought someone like Randy would have learned it.

The Diary tone as far as Randy is concerned was smoldering. I'll never forget hearing the part where Randy slides the side of his picking hand against the strings (that are being fretted) creating that INSANE effect that literally sounds like a billion notes and thinking "I HAVE JUST HEARD GOD....

I must say I never really liked the production on the original Blizzard of Ozz recordings. The Diary production was smoking hot though, something that def. changed in the remasters. Some of the tracks sound like they're underwater.
