Re: The truth on why Zakk was replaced finally came out?

If Zakk's drinking influence Ozzy's decision then I am not surprised. Ozzy has often warned about alcohol addiction getting the better of you. Maybe he was warning Zakk way back in 1988, "I'm your Demon alcohol....Demon alcohol......I'll get you." Ozzy wasn't telling Zakk anything in 1988...

I understand you opinion, we just disagree, no biggie. Zakk is pretty much damn if you DO, damned if you DON'T. You guys complain when he doesn't play the intro to some RR song note for note. Then you guys DO complain when he does a couple minute tribute to RR and plays it like Randy. He can't win f...

Trigger, There is a Ozzy/Zakk show up at dimeadozen right now that is not on your list. 10/31/1991 Tokyo, Japan. Sounds good, if you want to grab it. On a side note, are most of your Zakk era shows still on cassette? Or are they just mp3s? There are several people looking for some new Zakk era shows...

I think the original poster is over reacting a bit. It is a cool tribute to RR, nothing more, nothing less.

It keeps Randy's memory out there for people to enjoy.

The thing that gets me is that Van Halen was prolific in the songwriting department in the early days. They have enough material in demos from 1975 to 1980 to release multiple albums. I'm just wondering how they afforded to go into the studio prior to their big break? I've always wondered if Kevin D...

Well I compared the new show Enchantagy put up from cableguyxxx that claimed 8/8/81. It turns out it was 8/7/81 Prov, just mislabeled.

It might be a gen lower then what I already had so at least it was an upgrade.

I have to agree with SB13. I didn't really get into anything after that. I think Dubrow was just to much self hype, not enough talent.

Another funny one since I am listening to the GCxxx version of 8/8/81 right now. Before Iron Man, Ozzy talks about the guys in the crowd squeezing their balls to hit the high notes.

8/7/81 vs 8/8/81 differences????

There has been quite some debate on these 2 shows over at a few other sites so I am looking for some expert opinions here. Enchantgy posted Cableguys version of 8/8/81 South Fallsburg, Ny over at DIME yesterday. A direct tape transfer. Great sounding show. http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details....
