Re: Autographed Blizzard Tour Program

I noticed those picks in the frame, is that one of those special pick frames. Yes, it's the Pixxs Guitar Pick Display -- this one holds 35 picks. He did make a huge one that held over a hundred picks. There's two sheets of glass to these things, front and back, so it weighted a ton! Unfortunately, ...

Autographed Blizzard Tour Program

Well, after several years of frustration and close calls, I finally got my paws on Randy's autograph, along with Ozzy's and Bob's, on the back of the 1980 UK tour program. I had pretty much given up on it until our very own GUITARIDOL put his up for auction on eBay a month ago. Even cooler yet, it c...

I guess you're not aware of the whole guitar pick collecting scene then. You just reminded me of why I don't bother coming here anymore, darling.

Re: Rhoads Family Authorized Guitar Pick

I asked InTunes to verify if this was true, and they replied with: That was done some time ago for a limited edition run of Randy Rhoads wine and it was done directly for Randy's sister. It must've been a very limited run, because I hadn't come across it once over the last year and a half of pick co...

Rhoads Family Authorized Guitar Pick

This is really interesting... I just heard from a very reputable pick collector of a new Randy pick authorized by the Rhoads family, made by InTuneGP!! Here's a pic of it (the other side is blank): http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e17/Whipper6709/rr_pick.jpg I'm curious about the intentions and how...

Re: What do you think of this signature ?.

Thanks, I had stumbled upon it on eBay before you posted it here. Funny that I did, because I rarely bother to check there anymore. I normally would've set a higher limit, but this was a really bad time for it. It's been two years since the last chance at a fully signed original lineup Blizzard LP (...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

Ok, you win, you're right. All the people who buy high end guitars are idiots wasting their money, because they could've had a totally equal guitar for a few hundred bucks instead. Did I say that? Hmmm. You misunderstood everything I said and became argumentative for no reason. Oh for fuck sakes, h...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

and the wood in question was mahogany. a small piece of the guitar yes. Oh, well that changes everything! I was thrown off by the mahogany veneer on the body, which turns out is chambered oak, as well as the fingerboard. While not commonly used guitarmaking, it does get used for solid body e...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

Well, tell Brian to send it over for me to check it over and I'll get back to you. Seriously, we're supposed to rate a guitar based on some distant photos and album recordings? Just because the wood used came from a fireplace mantel, doesn't mean it was shitty wood. High quality woods are often used...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

You would know if the wooden guitar is built well or not buy simply looking at the details. If it's the sound coming from the pickups then it's the electric parts that are inferior... play them both unplugged and see if one feels cheap compared to the other. For christ's sake, you were referring to...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

Why does Fender manage to sell everything cheaper than Gibson, then? Really? I see plenty of American made Strats selling around $1,600 while Gibson SGs, Explorers and V's are often $1,200 or less even. If you're trying to compare the Strat to an LP that's hardly fair, just because they're both sol...

Re: ????????????????GUITARS????????????????????

I don't have any experience with Epiphone, but my Japanese Jackson RR V feels and sounds like a toy compared with my USA Jackson RR V! There is a night and day difference between them. That said, I fail to see why an LP should cost $4-6K as was stated, the other model Gibsons LP's around $2K, as wel...

Re: Scorpions Tribute V

Absolutely LOVE the neck in lays! Thanks Paul! I almost wasn't going to put any inlay at all on the fingerboard, but decided at the last moment to do something really subtle with paua shell. This would be an ideal beginner's inlay if you'd like to do something like this on the guitar you want to bu...

Scorpions Tribute V

I'm also a huge Scorps fan, so I thought I'd make a "Scorpions Tribute V" to sit alongside my PDV. I incorporated my love of trans black flame maple tops with the signature black/white split scheme the Schenker brothers have long used, as well as the iconic stencil scorpion they use on all...

Pixxs Guitar Pick Display Cases

It's not my site, but that of a friend who makes these awesome display cases for guitar pick collections, and I know there's a few collectors here. I made this promo animation for him that illustrates its design: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVlbcLuhNs8 They're certainly way better than putting th...
